New Year's Poker Resolutions

My resolution is to play more live poker (especially tournaments), I enjoy playing live more than online but the last year or so I haven't played very much live poker because playing online has become too routine.

Hmm, Good Question. Nice to share our desires, so they would, maybe, become more real

I have general desires which I wish would happen this year.

The first one and the smallest one is to build 100 dollar bankroll from 0. Meanwhile I have no success as I'm a begginner and sometimes make stupid mistakes and loose on cash games.

The middle one desire is to win a live tournament (we will have one festival soon in February) and to win 10 000 dollar prize in a tournament.

And my biggest desire is to build a 100 000 dollar bakroll.

Way too late probably but I'd like to participate in my first live cash game. I just recently got very interested in poker so I'm planning to go to a live table game soon. I definitely need to learn how to bluff more.

This year I want to get better at Omaha and 7-Card Stud. Grateful that CardsChat has those variants!

As for Hold'em I would like to commit to freerolls this year, curious how far they can get me as a fun little experiment and challenge. Even if I do manage building up a little bankroll, 0$ buy-ins will prevail!

Great topic for the new year!
For 2025 my resolution is to improve my post-flop decision-making, especially in cash games, especially in deep-stacked situations. I feel like I’ve hit a plateau where I’m solid pre-flop, but I sometimes struggle with extracting max value or making tough folds post-flop. I plan to dedicate time to studying solver outputs and reviewing my database for spots where I could’ve played more exploitatively.

Certainly, every year I propose to increase my personal bankroll, but at the same time and how to have a balance in cash games, at the same time I propose to win at least one online tournament. So I wish you much success everyone to increase the bankroll.

In 2025 I want to work on being me again in both poker and life. After getting sick last year "a first for me" I realized I am not a your man anymore. While not that old either its time to get my poker and life back in order.

So right now I am working with a mindset coach to get myself back to me Mentally and physically and also getting my mind ready for poker playing. While I have had a good mind set in poker I kind of forgot the important things in life. My goals for this year are to be the better man I can be. Make sure my wife knows she is loved and I am hear to back her up in anything she wants to achieve. I want to continue to be the great father I already am and continue to put my kids 1st. I want to find happiness in myself as well outside of poker. I want to also be better prepared and smarter when playing poker this year.

I'm currently playing the spins with 3 people at one table and my resolution for this year is to successfully level up and reach level 2, maybe even level 5.

By level I mean the stake per spin, i.e. 2 and 5 dollars.

It's going to be a tough road as the variance can be very much against you.
At the moment I've even lost 30 spins in a row. But I know from the forum and from other Cardschat members that the variance can be much higher.

That's why I'm going to set my bankroll management to 300BI and if I reach that per level then I'll move up.

If there is a downswing of 100BI, I will drop back down to the lower level.

I also tried two weeks ago at slots on GG, it started well, but I managed to lose $80 at stakes of 5-10-15 cents, stupidity on my part, shame about the hours wasted.

regaining the full and normal use of my legs/walking again after the accident is my foremost goal, and hopefully not too far out ill acheive that, secondly and also important would be similar to my annual yearly goal of just being present, taking oppurtunities to learn all the while you can, to become better, whether thats poker, as a man, father, family member, with anything, one step forward and placing no limits on myself.

Maybe a few million dollars somewhere along the road or something as a bonus idea thought? lol
