new here so hello and thanks.
been playing cards on and off since 5 years old( 30 now) and am looking to improve my texas holdem game. i have been playing full time for about a month 8-10 hours a day. i read daniel negreanu's power holdem strategy book a few times and am looking into what the next book should be. i appreciate any suggestions and opinions on the different books. i have heard a lot of good things about Harrington's books but which one first and so on.

also, anyone else get tired of all the maniacs in the freerolls, i just now have learned enough patience to wait for the right spot but it gets tough. been able to get into the top 2-300 in quite a few but then its like i tighten up and every hand sucks so i can't keep getting chips. anyway one thing at a time and thanks in advance for any help/advice

Welcome to CC!

Skim around the website, you'll see lots of suggestions for improving your game. Suggest looking at the Golden Archives section of the forum.

Recommendations on books will depend on your interests. Harrington is very good, but whether you start w the tourney books or cash game books depends on what you'd like to focus on first. Look for a thread by AlienGenius describing his library, he has very good recommendations on books for beginners.

gl!
