oh and i will be watching the vid, since i hate playing against really passive players, unless they are call a lot passive and aren't fold a lot passive. Call a lot passives i like, fold a lot passives i hate, since all pots are ridiculously small and its tough to win big pots so rake just eats the game up

For those of you who play 6max or FR and get a "HU bug", consider starting tables (50BB ones of course) and then you will play much worse HU players as they sit. Even the good FR and 6max regs probably aren't great HU players (the FR will be worse imo).

I think the key with HU is just to be a complete dick and table select like crazy. From my very limited experience, there are some regs that are pretty competent and some fish who are just looking to throw away their money. But i'd definitely agree that you get more fish by sitting rather than joining. I think it is also probably good to leave a table if you have like 200bbs or so and sit at a new one, because i'd assume that fish are more inclined to sit with somebody with $100 rather than $250.

Month is going very solid @ a little over 10BB/100 and i am finally starting to run goot ~1.5 buy ins above EV, which is rather nice for a change.

I'm actually beating 100nl 6max overall for 6.87 BB/100, but my initial foray into 100nl in august was FR and that was a complete disaster to say the least, which has put a damper on my overall winrate at nl100.

Well that was fun. So much for running *good* for 3.5k hands and back to running like dogshit like the last 40k hands i guess.

First losing day since Sep. 22nd. I guess i couldn't keep scoring winning sessions forever.

Still hope I can take a shot at 100NL this weekend. We'll see.

Time for some positive MOJO on this thread and not have it be the "October Bitch Fest" even though we all know how horrible it is to run like the posts above.

ANYWAYS - I made it to 10k hands today, and if you don't already know my goal is 20k hands for the month. Next week I am not able to play that much since work will keep me very busy.

And yes it feels good to finally WIN.

I wasn't bitching. Still enjoying my best month ever. Was a bit worried after being down 8 buy-ins after 700 hands yesterday, but i made most of it back by the end of the day, so no big deal.

BTW, FTP sucks and PS rules. Played both sites yesterday. Down $308 on FTP, up $180 on PS.

Wow, you're playing more hands than I am. Only got 9.5k so far. Try not to exceed your goals too much, 'cos if I remember correctly, my goal for October was "play more hands than icemonkey, less than zach"... :D

Belgo I wasn't talking about you at all, in fact your message hadn't appeared when I had hit the submit button. And I agree ... pokerstars is awesome. Unleash the poker star in you (because players here SUCK).

I packed on the hands this week because next week might be 0 to 3k, i dont know. Not playing at all this weekend most likely.

Don't worry you'll be crushing 100nl and WANTING to play lots more hands because you'll be making 4 figures this month :)

I'm really starting to believe that. Feels like I'm crushing the game there while I'm barely ahead on Full Tilt Poker. Of course, could be a self fullfilling prophecy as I now expect to run better at Stars, and the extra confidence may actually be making me play better.

Planning to play a lot this weekend, so i should get back on track for my monthly goals. Well, the part about playing less than zach i think i can already call it a success.

Well, my monthly graph has a 3 hands peak at $1000.80 before hitting the $400 downswing. Kind of sobering. And I want to play 100nl, not crush it yet. Took me three attempts to move up from 25nl to 50nl...

Did I screw up by moving to full tilt and thinking that *its* soft?

Maybe neither is softer than the other. It's possible that there are different styles of play at the tables and that we as individual players find it easier to adapt to a particular style.

Anyway, i don't have enough hands to make a serious comparison of the two. Only played 25k hands at 50nl so far, and that's mixed between PS and FTP and between 6max and FR, so nothing is truly significant.

Yeah, I haven't actually played any hold'em at full tilt, but the stud games are WAY EASIER. Probably because I don't have to start a stud table & play heads up with another guy before the fish come...

Meh, table selecting is actually very easy. You just sit at your own table and play anyone who sits down to play you. If you are any good and are a winning HU player, then after time none of the regs will sit to play you. That is why you get situations with like 10 people sitting on their own on tables, coz they are all regs who arent interested in playing each other. Also never leave if your deep out of choice, becuase the real fish eye up a deep stack and go oooo monies.

Pokerstars is soft, but i totally totally agree with Jag...don't get too ahead of yourself thinking you can absolutely rape all stakes when you are in the middle of a super hot streak. I remember way way back when i actually ran good for 15k hands and i completely felt as if i could sustain 12-13BB/100 then BOOM have fun trying to deal with -20 buy ins below EV over the next 2 months.

But i've managed to maintain over 5BB/100 at stars over all my hands and i am not even remotely close to being even for all in EV over my database (>-$1k i believe). And i'll be the first to admit that i make some ridiculous spewy plays occasionally, and i make some horrid call downs and some stupid spite calls when i am just 100 000 levels above where i should be for absolutely no reason. I also have struggled alot with stopping while tilted and have had some really large losing sessions as a result. In fact i only think i am really starting to adjust well to 6 max now.

Point being that yea the games are incredibly beatable but poker just seems so much happier when you are running good. But don't listen to me because i am Mr. Gloom who hasn't run good for 2 months and am completely biased the other way since i can barely even remember what it is like to run good.

I always thought fish would look at a big stack and assume the guy is good because he has lots of monies.
