I'm newer to the online world of poker and am finding it a little annoying ... still addictive as heck but so different then sitting a real table. I guess maybe no matter the software its a computer and I am finding its almost as if some hands are compltetly set up to as to purposely iliminate a player/s especialy in the free tournys. how many of you out there have found that they have had to completely change their strategies just for online play then when playing at live table? or am I just completely crazy on this idea?

Crazy! Heck no! You have hit the nail right on the head when you say that you have to change your play between online and live. Two totally different worlds player.

This isn't what you want to hear, but it's your imagination.

You might be playing against a different standard of player online vs live, and there are some differences in terms of the information you have available to you (no physical tells online, and much less time to think through your action, but you have access to a whole range of other stats and information to make up for that). But the short answer is no, you shouldn't need to completely change strategies.

Biggest difference between online and live is that $1/2 online is way harder than it is live.

online poker players have some crazy behaviors--Easy to all-in & easy to bluff.
Especially players trained from 888 freerolls.
That's no relation with right or wrong, only relation with low cost.

Also keep in mind you are seeing many more hands online in a given time period.
Comparing live play for money to online free rolls is an apples to bananas thing.

poker online and live have a very big difference, it must be tried first, so it's easy and does not understand the differences.

You also have to take into account, because of the anonymity that comes along with online poker, players tend to play ALOT looser.

Totally agree! Short time to make decisions keeps the pressure higher, but always having info of chip stacks and pots means no calculations in your head for that.

Online is fun and fast paced, but I prefer the live game atmosphere.

Yea you can't tell me these hands aren't set up to get the money in...when it's your turn to win, you will win. When it's your turn to lose, you will lose no matter what cards you get. No different than a slot machine in a casino

Online or live it's still the same game. Players in both games bet and bluff and deliver and receive bad beats. Just, you're playing more hands per hour online and because of this "bad beats" ar more often online than happens live.

In online I can swear as much as I want and as loud as I want. My chief spits on the screen when cards go wrong. You can't do that at the real table ☺

Live poker is a thousand times better than online. Alone the atmosphere and the conversations at the table make up a lot. Above all, the cards are mixed before you and not by "random" ;-)

Online I find to be better because I can play 10 tables at the same time. Where live is boring and takes all night to get any action.

Live poker is much better for me than online. Sure, you can play several tables. But poker also includes a good pokerface. You can only do this at Live Poker.
