How does everyone feel about how they play online rather than at the table?

I think I do better online because Im tended to play my cards more rather than who ever is left in the hand. I tend to usually keep my money longer, and play alot smarter.

I feel I play better live b/c the game moves a little slower and I'm able to read my opponents. Unfortunately, the nearest casino to me is an hour and a half away. So, I basically only get real live action amongst friends. the few times I have been to a casino have been a little intimidating b/c of my inexperience in them.

Online, I am able to obviously play alot more hands. It is a great tool for learning but typically only if you are playing at a level where it means something to everyone at the table(s). freerolls and the like are usually filled with aggressive, loose players looking for a quick double-up or better and it doesn't give a real representation of how a person would normally play.

The only live poker I've played is at private parties and usually while drinking, so in my experience, I usually don't play so good live..lol.

However, I think playing live would be harder for me. I think I would be worrying too much about what I was giving away if people could see me. Online you can be whoever you want, do whatever you want while playing. You can be someone different from one table to another. Play a different style of poker from one site to another. Have a different name even. ;)

I like both online and live play, and I usually play tournaments. I am still a little intimidated when it comes to live cash games. I like being able to observe the other players because you can't really get any reads online. One of the advantages online play has over live play, however, is the ability to play more than one table at a time, so it doesn't get boring as fast as live play can.

I have never played any live poker. I am to chicken to try it. I get to nervous and think I would give hands away. I love online play, I play in tournaments only.

I like playing live much better then online. Just something about the smell of custom chips and plastic cards.

I like watching players as the situations change.

You should try it. I found a local casino that had a "Rookie Tournament" every Thursday night, and I was amazed at how poor some of the players in it were, even though I am far from being an expert myself.

I find live more profitable when I am playing ABC poker. Live players seem incredibly loose and agressive. I just wait for my premium hands or monsters and trap them.

Except for playing with my family, I've only played in a live tourney once. It didn't go so well. I did enjoy it and I want to try it again. I just found it hard to concentrate with the noise and distractions. I had a hard time trying to figure out the pot size. Online, everything is there for you on the screen.

I lose horribly online because I cant read my opponents so I prefer live because I actually profit.. unfortunately I have to drive over an hour to get to a casino...

Me and some of my friends used to host games every wednesday and friday and kept stats on everybody who played based on their finishes... out of 85 games I won 25 and placed 2nd 15 times .. my 40/85 cashes ended up turning me profit instead of the losses I take online which are retarded.

I played a tournament at a casino once with 100 players and finished on the bubble in 10th ... so yeah, live is pretty much my game

I prefer live play...when i show up stoned people just assume i suck. I leave the table after about an hour to go smoke some more and take money from some more suckers.
The part I like about live play is the fact that you have more influence over thier decisions based on your aperance, the way you talk, how you bet...people look at me and see a college stoner with long hair...not an aerospace engineering student ranked #2 in his class. :)
