Can live poker be compared to online poker?
What is the difference in your opinion between live poker and online poker, and which is the most important in order to learn the strategies correctly?

I totally agree with you about the importance of online poker and am a fan of it, although I see live poker as also important in terms of reading opponents' body language and how to properly control my emotions and reactions.

The difference is huge. Live is much better, unless you are using bots, or computer programs.
live you can watch and read players. There are no outside artificial advantages.

There are a number of differences. I will comment on a couple that I find important.

The first is a HUD. A Heads Up Display. This is software that collects stats about your opponents. This you do not have live. So online you may be facing people who collect stats. This is a major difference IMO as these players will also be often making decisions quickly as they are playing multiple tables. So sly bluffs may simply not be effective vs. these types of players.

You can also have a HUD online.

Live, you can see who is drinking, who is a recreational player (sometimes), who chats a lot, and who pays attention to play and so on. Online, you can only observe betting patterns and maybe if your opponent observes positional play etc.

IMO, live will see more recreational players live vs. online grinders playing multiple tables online. There are many bad players online, but many will have a HUD and let the HUD make their decision. So if they know how to read stats, they will be making many decisions based on stats.

In my opinion,online poker is a kind of video game, and live poker is comparable to sports.One is virtual and the other is real.Many professional players belonging to one group have essentially ignored the other.There have been stories of "live players "who tried to play online poker claiming it wasn't real poker.

There is a big difference between playing online and live. I could not play live as effectively as online. The psychological side of the game is of great importance. Live, you have to hide your emotions. The rest of the game is the same.

If you want to learn the strategies- online is better because of the number of hands you can play.
Live play can be as slow as 30 hands per hour- online you can play multiple tables or fast type games and get 100 hand per hour easily.

Then online you can use HUD trackers to review your hands and find mistakes so you will improve much faster online than Live. DO THIS!!!!

You can also play freerolls online so you can learn and not effect your bankroll and you can share hands here on Cardschat so that we can help you grow.

Online poker is to me a totally different game from live poker. Online poker is mathematics, numbers and a little of experience. Live poker is much more skill, reading your opponent, knowing when and how much to bet. Live poker with friends drinking an laughing is the best experience in my opinion.:icon_bigs

The difference for me is 15 yrs playing live at a casino, only once have I hit an royal flush....since covid started and closed casinos, I have seen 3....rng are nothing compared to a deck of cards.

How is live poker different from online poker? Let me count the paths... the 1st is not accidental. Online poker is a computer program that is not capable of producing real random simulations because it already knows which cards have been played, both up and DOWN. This fact alone means that the game is no longer even a poker game, but rather a game of "guess the algorithm", where you literally know that on the PREFLOP your 72o will crush the entire field, just like the bets are played before you start acting. By dropping KK, AA and others, you will save your packages if you want to continue playing a fake online poker game. I like offline poker more
