I had a few (many) beers and then I went to play poker, I had a $164.00 cashier and ended up playing wrong and lost $130.00 drunk, now I don't play anymore after drinking a lot, I've already managed to recover $50.00 dollars and I will try to retrieve the rest.

Pretty good lesson for as little as it cost. Sure you will find on this thread that you're not the only one.

The same thing has happened to me a couple of times and it was enough to stop repeating it, emotions are maximized and analysis decision making practically disappears or at least erroneously:jd4::jd4::jd4::jd4:

..We are always in the process of learning, some lessons we produce, others come from friends or information, drinking doesn't go together in many ways

130$???? Wtf, I’m sure u have spent more than that at a bar drinking before...question is...Did u really learn anything or will this repeat itself another night in the future. Really don’t think 130$ is a lesson.

I haven't played in that state yet and I don't think it would be good if you take poker seriously

Very glad that you realized it, because the main thing is to understand in what direction you should not go. And the fact that you returned 50$ is very good, I'm sure at this rate and the rest will return, and even go in the plus. Well done, keep on this path and do not abuse alcohol any more.;)

I don't even get close to a poker table anymore when I'm drunk ... I rather play low-stakes roulette because anything which demands my intelligence to win is doomed to fail in that state.

It happened to me once, many years ago, but luckily it was only in the micro. But I immediately noticed that I can't play and I wasn't in the tournament for very long. but i know people who almost always play drunk and think that it helps them to play more carefree and to dare more. Whether they are then also successful is another question.

Weird, as a young man I used to drink quite a bit after work & on weekends, always worked out well for me. Wondering now why I stopped behaving that way.

I rarely drink alcoholic beverages. After I drank alcohol, I never played poker, because the probability of making wrong decisions while drunk is very high.

Probably yes, because I acted more risk-affine under the influence of alcohol and sober I usually play more rationally and patiently.

Man. I have been playing poker drunk many times and never lost so much money like you. Maybe because i never went so wild like you because i still can stay focus on the game when i'm drunk.

don't drink, my friend, it's getting harder to think, but alcohol interferes with the brain

Good
I can say that drink changes everything in life
not only in the game but in everything in life (you don't drink and go to work, why not if they don't send you away) right
so if you drink don't play

Lost 130.- drunk? Try losing amounts 5-10* than that while completely sober ...
