Playing multiple tables

I know the benefits of playing multiple tables. There's less variance/swings to your bankroll if you invest in 4 $6 sngs than 1 $24 sng. Also, it's harder to get on tilt by playing multiple tables. However, if you're the type of player who can read online tells pretty well, does it make more sense to just concentrate on one table? I can't imagine playing 4 tables and learning player's playing styles. Maybe that's because I'm a little ADD.

S&Gs are harder to multitable than cash b/c as players get knocked out from each table u have to make decisions at each table faster and faster. You should be able to 4-table S&Gs no problem though. Just start adding 1 table at a time until u are totally comfortable with it. Also, invest in a tracking program and HUD (Pokertracker 3 or Holdem Manager) it will make ur life a ton easier when multitabling

I actually find it just as easy to tilt when playing 8 tables as it is when playing one. but then again i am not good at controlling tilt and just have to quit when tilting.

lol I find it so much easier to tilt when playing multiple tables. Not sure I can think of much worse than losing KK to AA preflop 3+ times simultaneously or multiple set over sets or a combination of that kind of thing. You're just cruising along and all of a sudden poof there go 3-4 buy-ins

lol. Well, the most I've played is three real money games. I'm really bad at it, because I play super loose in one table to donk it off so I can concentrate on the one where it's late game and I'm in the money. Very stupid I know. Also, I accidentally clicked on a matrix game at full tilt. I was pissed when 4 tables showed up at once. It was only for play money, and I did horrible.

Also stagger the times you buy into SNGs by 15 or 20 minutes so you don't end short-handed and/or up heads up at multiple tables too frequently.

When a table is slow, which some can be totally borning if real slow, it's nice to have a second game going to take up the slack. Once in a while you might have to spread your thoughts when you are in the middle of two complicated hands at the same time but it works out. Happy New Year and good luck at the tables.

Its something that gets taking used to, you should start slowly by adding one table. Sometimes people like to stagger their start times so if playing well they arent on the bubble at multiple tables at the same time either.

I dont like to play in more than 3 tables ... The concentration goes away ...

Try the Matrix tourny on Full Tilt. You play 4 tables against the same players on each table. You only have to track 8 other players styles instead of 32.

There's nothing to say you can't try both multi-tabling and moving up to see what works better for you and which you prefer. I wouldn't try both at the same time is all.

I can do 4 at the most. Any more then that is just unreal. I've seen pros play 10-15 at the same time, not many...but some. I can do 4 easy.

I like multi tabling. It keeps you focused and you see more hands, more situations, etc. You don't get bored and make bad calls. It's better then listening to an Ipod. lol

I used to find 4 tables kind of intense, then that got boring so I moved up to 6. Now playing 9 at a time and probably not gonna go more than that becuase you can't "tile" more than 9 and I hate "cascading" them.
Mutlitabling is alot easier in ring games though, especially full ring becuase the blinds are always the same and there's more time between hands than on 6max.

I think bodog and player'sonly/sportsbook has the best freerolls. Bodog shortened it's freeroll schedule to 2 $500 freerolls, and still has quite a bit of players that join, but they pay 63 places, and it's 10 times the amount of those stupid freerolls with about 3k people and just 50 bucks. Sportsbook has freerolls that are worth 1k, and the Monday night freeroll is awesome. They had 100 bucks to the pool per point each team scores, so if it's like 20-30, that's 5k added to the 1k, a total of 6k, and they pay.... don't quote me on this but 180-250 players. The max is 3k people that enter and usually it's full. I believe any Cake skin that offers a sportsbook offers these freerolls, and there are a lot of them. I recently discovered Lock Poker, which is a cool looking skin, but purely poker I believe.

Well, I think mastering exercising my chip stack and learning to play position would be good to practice in multitabling. If I can do that without really reading my opponents, then that's just one skill I'll get down. Then maybe I'll move onto to exploring gear changing and reading players. Also, any tips on multi tabling cash games?

From what I've learned playing 9 tables at 10NL, always play FullRing. 6Max is too fast to be playing lots of tables. Really play position poker, I don't even play suited connectors unless I'm Button or CO most of the time, and play almost no hands from UTG or early position. "Tiling" the tables is better than "cascading" them imo becuase you can see more at once such as how long someone takes to bet, etc. And watch for players who are at more than one of your tables. For example if you see the same player at 4 of your tables and not going broke, they're probably a decent player, also remember they can see you too.

ive played three tables at once found it hard to do 2table max here

I usually play three to four tables and once.
I like it because I stay more focused on playing.
When you are not even going to play a hand at one table you can easily focus on another.
You get more hands in also.
If I have a bad beat on one of the tables I get more focused and play even better resulting it more winning at the others.

I usually play 2 tables at a time (tourneys), Maybe one and read this forum, lol. I thought I saw a link for a video somewhere of someone multi-ing lots of tables. Can't find it. Could anyone put up a link to it or another one like it?

i muti table tournys and cash games , sit n go hard cause pretty much no restroom break , never break a same time , cash game i can sit out and mtt im problaly better off to fold any way, but then again im not much of a winning player , more like break even
