Yes try out some freerolls and you will see online poker differentiate from playing at home with your family. I think online poker is easy to learn but hard to win.

I think it's a big plus if ur gf/bf wants to learn to play I was actually taught by my wife in the beginning of our relationship and has brought us a lot closer

yesterday she beat me 4 out 4 games! granted there were some pretty rough beats in there, but still -- she's doing pretty damn good for a beginner.
