Is poker a sport

Or leisure, or deathtrap. I don't consider it straight gambling, that's only due to the luck aspect. Like roulette is all gambling, I don't care what hokey-dokey scheme you got to lay bets on a 1/3rd of the table so at least you don't keep losing.

Sports require physical effort and skill. Poker is sport as much as chess is a sport. As already mentioned above, it may be considered a "mind sport".

Poker is an art!

Every tournament is a separate picture that you paint, filling it with colors, and sometimes just using a few shades. Much in poker depends on your creativity.

And no, poker is definitely not a gambling game.

Poker is generally censored. Bridge and chess have their own Olympiads. Poker, although also a mind sport, does not have such competitions. It is practically universally treated as a game of chance.

A lot of players playing live don’t look very athletic so I wouldn’t consider poker a sport. It’s a hustle.

I find it to be more of an intensive game. Mentally it can be exhausting. Less of the physical exhaustion that a real sport needs.

I am more inclined to view poker as a sport, but in my opinion, poker is a sport that includes elements of gambling. At least, that is my personal attitude towards this game.

In my opinion, poker is exclusively a game of chance, and this game has nothing to do with sport. Poker players are not athletes. Poker players are gamblers.

While some countries recognize poker as a sport, others consider it gambling. There is a difference between regular poker and sports poker, with the latter focusing on tournament competition rather than winning money.

In my opinion, poker is a sport. I don't think this because I want to consider myself an athlete, but because poker has literally all the elements that are characteristic of typical sports.

Eternal question.
In my opinion, a sport is one where actual physical exertion is performed in any form (mostly) under competitive conditions. Moving chips and cards is not particularly strenuous, so I don't consider poker a sport. I have the same dilemma with chess.
