It depends on each person, the important thing is not to go to extremes, I like to play Poker, I play 6 to 8 hours a day, but when I have an appointment, travel, tours, parties and others, I attend and live every moment, I don't live thinking or dreaming about the game or strategies, I live my days.

I don't have any friends or even acquaintances who can be called poker addicts and I don't consider myself to be one !!! Yes, I play a lot of poker and I like it, but if I need to miss a few games or days, I have never had any problems with this !!!

Critics argue that addiction can be exacerbated the greater the degree to which a game's outcome depends on randomness or uncertainty. In games like chess, in which the outcome depends much more on your own skill and that of your opponent than on chance, it is difficult to get addictively hooked (no matter how much you enjoy the game) since the repeated and predictable losses that occur produced by playing against more skilled players will tend to reduce, rather than increase, the desire to continue playing. On the contrary, in games in which "just one more game" with a strong bet could lead to recovering the losses incurred, they emphasize the need to continue playing, and can cause an addictive spiral.

I am passionate about poker but it is not addictive for me at all, I should not play in case it is addictive for someone, seek help since the different emotions that occur are too many and you must have mental control so that they do not generate something negative

Wow Chica Physci 101 not that i disagree with my friend but everything or anything can be addictive depending on the degree of usage and of course there is the other side the degree of pleasure or pain one desires but i've said enough it's all there in the books.

Yes it is, so many things are addictive, i know people who can't stop eating chocolate for example, but if you have self control there is no problem, if you fell that it is too much, stop.

You can lose control sometimes, when you decide to take some more risks , especially on tilt after having already lost some money , but I believe most people have overall control over their gambling games , very few are the addictive persons . These addicted would lose their money anyway , even if they weren't playing poker , they would find another way to gamble and lose . But most have control . If you have BRM and tilt control , then everything is good .

It really is very addictive as the whole game has to be taken care of.

Addiction is more of a personality disposition, those that have it have it and may struggle with it their whole lives. Don't think it's specific to poker, but gambling as a whole may be more accurate.

First: you are addicted because you don't like and don't know how to lose, but this happens to you all the time. The above happens to many poker players who can't take wins and losses more or less indifferently. The latter play solely for the sake of getting adrenaline.

As others have already described before me, everything can cause addiction if taken to extremes, and it depends on the individual what counts as extremes.
For some people, 12 hours of poker is not much and they can do everything in their life normally, but for some people, even two hours is taxing.
The person chooses, the point is that you have to sit down at the table with good feelings, not because you have to.

You are slightly confusing the term "habit" with the term "addiction". 😜
There are many opinions, but in general, the habit is developed for about a month. But the habit does not cause addiction In the sense that we are talking about here: we get used to brushing our teeth in the morning, for example. When we get used to it, then, without doing it, we only feel some discomfort from the fact that something went wrong. We don't experience stress because of which we become more aggressive, for example. Addiction is a broader understanding of human thinking.
Although, in general, these terms may be closely related.❤

I try to control my game of poker so that it does not interfere with my professional and personal life. However, it cannot be denied that in my opinion you can become addicted to playing poker. game immediately makes me feel that I am missing something.

Of course, any game is addictive.

I had no problems, but how many cases in the world of people losing everything at a casino table or elsewhere?

If the person doesn't have a real idea of his ability and always counts on luck and I've had some psychological problem, without a doubt he will sink.

Now if not, it could be a second source of income or even make a living from the game.

our whole life is made up of habits, good and bad, going to work is a habit, drinking coffee in the morning, but we can control the time how much time we devote to one habit or another

Hello!🤗
Scientific researches have proven that all people on the planet are more or less dependent. Only the degree of severity of this dependence differs.

In this regard, I can say with confidence that all of us here can be considered dependent. 😅
But, of course, there is nothing wrong with this, if our addiction does not interfere with our daily life and does not create discomfort for the people around us.😊 Because such dependence is reduced to a norm that does not require grounds to abandon it and does not require outside intervention.🥰

If we consider the suicidal outcome, then I can't blame poker as such. This, to a greater extent, depends on the person.
If he had such a strong dependence on poker, then he could have the same strong dependence on anything else, since he is more susceptible to it.

A person is dependent on what he likes. But how dependent he is and whether it is worth paying attention to it is another question.🌺🌺🌺
I would say something in this topic, but when I've read you, I gave up, for you've said all. :). Your are the best!🌻

Previously when I started I had problems controlling my banking and this resulted in me spending a lot of money doing top-ups. Even one day when I won my first tournament, I embezzled my bank in 3 days. With time and discipline, self-control, I have managed to maintain adequate bank management. It is very easy to fall into gambling in this area.

It’s always good to know that gambling is a habit like smoking or drinking that’s why you have to be responsible if you know your bankroll can’t manage don’t play.but not everyone can control there feelings so they get caught up ⬆️ in trying to win big and end up broke then do it all over again with no strategy. I can take a break from poker for a week and it won’t be a problem.but can a drinker or a smoker can’t do that.because they have a habit that they need to satisfy. I don’t need to satisfy my poker habit but I love ❤️ to play so it’s a hobby and not a habit.now it you posted if poker is a Obsession then would have to say to me Poker is my obsession. I hope I answer the question 🙋‍♀️ this is just my opinion.

I know I am addicted to poker but I don't spend more than I can afford to loose so I have what I call a controlled addiction. I play 7 days a week and if i can't afford to play live just play freerolls online.
