For me poker definitely is a game of skill and discipline. Of course you can win one tournament only with luck, but it's very difficult to be a successful poker player in the long run without skill and discipline.

There is an element of luck for sure. However if you pay attention to betting patterns of players you may be able to enhance your chances of winning depending on the type of player. You can always be lucky or unlucky though.

I think poker includes all 3 factors, this is the lottery, and sports, and discipline. For example, luck still plays a role in tournaments, and since people compete for titles, this is partly a sport.

Like other members said, I also think that poker is a combination of skills, strategy and like in all the other sports and/or other aspects of life, luck has it's part too(tho I agree that in poker sometimes/ on short term luck can be an important factor).

If you play freerolls, then it looks like a lottery, because there is always a wabank on the preflop. And in online poker there are a lot of gamblers who like to go all-in, so it's still on the lottery. And in live poker, the discipline is very positive.

A moot point, on the one hand, poker skill, but on the other hand, poker software and additional solutions like mystery bounty equalize the chances of luck.
