It has been proven that smoking has virtually no effect on stress relief in humans. It's just a bad habit.When smoking, players try to hide their emotions and are afraid to give up cigarettes because they think that this will directly affect the game.For most people, smoking is a kind of lifesaver: if you move, you smoke; won a more or less significant pot - smoked. There can be no talk of any self-control. It's sad that many people don't pay enough attention to this when analyzing their own games.

I really Dont know if smoking îs helping you whole you play poker în a way or another, but for sure I enjoy very much doing both în the same time 😁, sometimes maybe a little to much 😂😂😂

Well I can't say if it helps or hurts people who smoke and play poker, it probably can hurt people who play poker who don't smoke. I have never smoked and I don't like the smell of smoke and it would be a distraction to me playing. In truth if I were to go to a casino who allowed smoking at the table I wouldn't be playing poker at their tables.

I have not smoked for several years. I played poker both when I smoked and when I quit smoking, I didn't notice any difference.

Only has any effect if I have no backy. Been smoking for 30yrs its just normality to smoke.
The addiction issue is the problem. Anyone who smokes tobacco for some beneficial reason is an idiot. Yes it can be used for slight calming purposes but there are much better substances than tobacco. Other than trying to look cool it has no value except a drain on the pocket.
I have tried to quit a couple of times never succeeding. Hope to do so one of these years.

I don't understand the point of smoking cigarettes at all. There is a lot of damage to the body, to the lungs, the risk of getting cancer is much higher. And the main thing is that there is no appreciable pleasure from tobacco (okay, let's compare it with alcohol, because it is allowed all over the world, but I also do not support alcohol and do not use alcohol).

Smoking prevents everything. This is a terrible habit, unfortunately I smoke. If I had known how much smoking would harm me, I would never have started smoking. Unfortunately, I did not listen to the advice of adults.

There are probably very few, if any, poker rooms in the USA where smoking is allowed. It hasn't been allowed at Foxwoods for more than twenty years, long before the rest of the casino went smoke free. I know that I read things back then in magazines like Card Player, which mentioned card rooms not allowing smoking.

The casinos in New Hampshire I've been to are all totally non-smoking, except for Filotimo in Manchester that has one slots room where it is allowed.

When I was in Vegas none of the card rooms I played in allowed it, though the rest of the casino did. I heard somewhere that some casinos in Vegas don't allow it anywhere, but I was in Caesar's, The Horseshoe, Sahara, South Point and they all had smoking everywhere but the card rooms.

It doesn't bother me too much since at tournament breaks I can just step over by the slots and either pick up an ashtray to stand with, or sit down and play the machine. Helps me to keep my consumption down too.

There is nothing that is enhanced through smoking, It cannot help concentration or performance when playing Poker, It is all a Myth! I smoked for over 40 years and all it gave me was foul smelling clothes and cars. Yes I quit smoking over 10 years ago and my Bank balance has never looked healthier even if I don't feel any healthier, but the damage is already done and at my age (68) there is no turning the clock back.

I am still hooked on Nicotine and I vape to feed that habit, My Doctor approves and I really don't give a damn what damage it can do to you as I have already said " the damage is already done" I noticed on a recent night out that I don't really need it that much when in company and for people around me I prefer to respect their air space, but alone at home it is never out of my hand. But it certainly doesn't impact one way or another when I play Poker.

I dont know about cigars but weed probably makes you play worst,yet,maybe not XD
I guess it depends more of if you play how you should even when you are sober
But i dont think any kind of smoking can really help to play better,so if it change anything,probably changes to worst,so good luck with being sober

Smoking does not give any advantages. Smoking is just one big flaw that messes up your cardiovascular system, brain, and everything else. Therefore, if smoking affects your game, this effect is only negative.

I have stopped smoking . It was a bad habit . And poker can be frustrating many times with losses or bad hands . Then a cigarette will be smoked , one follows the other , a lot of smoking can happen during a poker game.e session . At least that was .y case when I used to smoke .
