I used to have this weird superstition about red chips. For some reason, whenever I had a stack of reds in front of me, I felt like I ran better. Didn’t matter if I was up or down if the stack was heavy on reds, I just believed the cards would fall my way. Once, I even traded green chips with a guy next to me just so I could keep my red pile going. Looking back, it was completely ridiculous the cards don’t care what color your chips are but in the moment, it gave me this weird confidence. Funny thing is, confidence actually does matter in poker, so maybe it wasn’t so crazy after all.
