Each month, the money I earn from playing poker accounts for 30-60% of my earnings.

Poker is an additional income for me and it is unlikely that it will become the main one with too small limits. If you play constantly, then this is a very long time.

No, and when someone tells you he does, he's probably lying. Being able to play high stakes doesn't make you a pro which some wealthy people apparently think just because they won something once.
It's like when pubescent boys brag about getting laid. 99% of the cases it never happened.
Poker is a hobby to me with a nice additional income from time to time.
There are so few people who can play on a pro level and can actually make a living out of it. Even in the Pro field many struggle and can't play without a sponsor. When I was younger I Imagined that very successful Poker Pros have a glamorous life which may apply to some but only those who had money in the first place. I realized that for most Pros its really hard work with often very little to no payoff

the jump from recreational or regular player as a hobbie to pro player is a real difficult that demands disclipline and time to prepare studying the game and playing it real good to start profiting from it

Most of us can only dream of playing poker as a job the truth of the matter is a good 90% of us don’t have the money to make it a career and if we root into the why’s… we simply aren’t good enough…and even more to the point most of us wouldn’t be able to handle the downswings or the bankroll management… having love for something doesn’t mean we can be the best at what we love or make it a career…. We can try our very best and this is the truth love it or hate it it’s always going to be a fact 🤦‍♂️ ultimately most pro’s have a gift at poker and sure they have to keep learning and sharpening their skill set but they simply have a gift and you either have it or you don’t…sure you can get very good but as I said you either have it or you don’t, loving poker and loving playing is great you may get lucky and even win a big amount of money but making it a career simply isn’t a likely outcome for most players.

Much love
Danny

play satellites to qualify for tournaments, I never pay for the entry, I always try to qualify and that has helped me too much to make it profitable despite the variance, that is a question of the game but there are too many things like studying, managing emotions, etc.

I believe that for only 1% of players poker is the main earnings. For example, in S&g, players with cash hands from 1 to 5 million meet quite often. I think this is for them the main earnings (due to less experienced players).

currently for me, poker is just a hobby, that's because I still can't support myself only with poker, I need a job, but I'm looking to acquire more experience to support myself only with poker

Well, it is not my main source of income, but it represents between 10% and 15% of what I earn per month.
I'd like to win a big prize at some point (20K+), I'm working on it.

For me, poker is a source of additional income. I just play in freerolls, increase my bankroll and use this money to play in regular tournaments.

I would never expect to make a living from any form of gambling, whether it is from Poker, Sports betting or even the stock markets, they all have the possibility of losing money, because there is no such thing as a "Sure thing" I once bet on a horse that was a "Sure thing" telling a friend I met in a bookies one day, sure enough coming into the final furlong it was 8 lengths in front of the second place horse and passed the winning post 12 lengths ahead. Only the wrong side of the post! The track it seems was used for different races and split just before the winning post and my jockey took the wrong line and forfeited the race.
Poker is no different, sure you can flop a great hand, making a full house or whatever, only to be hit by the turn and river giving your opponent 4 of a kind, it happens all the time once hitting a nut flush on the flop, my opponent moved all-in with 2 pair, I naturally called and Boom! The river card made his full house.
That's Poker!

When people making their sole income with poker, then there must be a lot of loosers on the other side who finance them. So the number ist very low. I have a good job and play just for pleasure, but a growing bankroll makes me happy for sure.
The only ones, beside a small number of players, who makes the big profit are the owners of a casino or a poker onlineplatform

Poker brings me income, but so far this income is not enough for me. I am working on increasing my weekly profit, but so far I have not reached my goals because we are at war and we have regular problems with electricity.

I can't imagine luck is the key, I think it's probably hours of endless grinding... luckily poker is just extra side money to me
