Me personally I played poker since I was young. I first started playing 5 card draw. But the 3 most influential professional player that got me interested in Holden was Phil hellmuth, Doyle brunson, and tj cloutier

I think I wanted to play poker just because I fancied it and because it uses a good deal of Maths which I live rather than starting because of a particular player - that being said, my favourite player is Daniel.

Haha actually the person who got me started wasn't a poker pro. It's a twitch streamer by the name reckful. Just made me think hey, poker is interesting. I always wondered how this game worked. And that was like 15 months ago

I'm also inspired by the beginning of Chris Moneymaker's career. I always follow the news about poker and professional level players. I like the players Tom Dwan and Vitaly Lunkin.

actually, I started playing with all the things i found here on CC.
Came for the freerolls, did my qualified posts, and for that you have to read some stuff. Yesterday i watched KidPoker Doku, really imressive. Well Daniel is the most recent succesful player, but I love this german stone guy Holtz. (I hope) he is sooooo cool and neither Daniel can read him.

I'm going to answer this in two ways. The way I go into it was Moneymaker. I figured that anyone could get there if you put the time in. Later I found out this was somewhat true. I takes tons of time between studying, watching coaching videos and live play and of course playing yourself. I stopped for playing for about the last 4 years and the player who got me back into is was Doug Polk's youtube videos

The professional poker player that first inspired me to play was actually a fictional character, Maverick (from the original 1960’s TV show). Bret more than Bart, of course. Guess that makes me kinda old.

"Poker According to Maverick" was the first poker book I ever read. It included some age-old advice such as, “Never play poker with women.” :icon_stud

I watched the 2003 WSOP but Greg Raymer really got me motivated the next two years to start playing. I didn't really idolize him but watching him crush the competition two years in a row really ignited my poker passion.
