I recently quit smoking but I used to chain smoke while I played.

Do you believe we should be able to smoke cigarettes while we play, or do you like the non smoking trend?

While playing online, you can do what you want, but if you managed to quit, it would be a bad idea to start again. Quitting is a nice achievement.
For live poker, no people shouldn't be allowed to smoke while playing, and they aren't. If you want to smoke, you can do it during the breaks.

I don't think there is any correlation between the two things. Smoking is an awful habit regardless and if poker or something else is enabling you to do it, then one of the two needs to go. Maybe if you really want to play poker, find something you can do to occupy yourself, like maybe music, snacks, or something to fidget with like a rubik's cube.

I'm Smoking right now, but I think we should drop this dead case. When I quit Smoking and playing poker, it was enough more strength to the game, more focus and brain very differently works! But again it is a choice each!

When I play I'm nervous at some moments and I smoke cigarettes, but smoking is like a habit and I want to quit smoking, and I think it's better not to smoke at all, and when playing and being nervous, it's better to use something tasty and useful!

It's quite simple:
online poker: do as you wish (as long as you aren't harming the people surrounding you)
Live poker: Smoking in a closed area is prohibited so even if you tried to they would kick you out the casino..

It’s hard to quit smoking when it’s connected with some other action, when it gets a form of a routine or even a ritual. That’s why people say it’s a real torture when you quit and there’s a morning coffee or a drink with your friends when you feel that there’s something missing. I smoke cigarettes and i know that feeling and thats why i’m talking about routines and every day rituals (drinking coffee, beer or whatever) and i feel there’s no difference if your are a smoker and a poker player. In fact, these two actions are even on a higher level, because it fits somehow together.
I’ve tried to quit a couple of times but a game of poker turned out to be a place of a real temptation.
So i’m still a smoker but you buddy be a better man and show us how the things get decided

That's why I love playing poker online cause I can smoke. playing live you cant . I drink more playing online as well cause the beer fridge is right under my table where I use computer.

I don't smoke personally and never have but if the poker room has great airflow and the tables are large enough i would care if people could smoke. My only reason to say no would be if the smoke was always in my face so yes based on hvac systems in building/room and table sizes.

First of all, good on you for giving up smoking. I wish you all the best, in your quest to kick the habit (smoking).

I like the non-smoking trend or in my country, non-smoking law.

In New Zealand, you would not be able to smoke at a casino poker table. Smoking has been banned, in all indoor spaces, at hospitality venues. This means people can no longer smoke inside places such as bars, gaming venues, clubs, restaurants, etc. Casinos do have outdoor areas for those wishing to smoke, but no poker tables or gaming machines in those areas.

I have never smoked, but if I ever get lung cancer, it will be as a result of passive smoking at poker home games. In the early/mid 1970’s, I would meet with some friends once a week, for a session of five card draw. Most were smokers and are all now dead.

I do smoke 2-4 cigarettes daily and sometimes never smoke for few weeks. Yah it is a bad habit in any form and one should try to get rid of it.

Previously, I smoked a lot and often.

I think that smoking does not affect the game of poker! if you do not know what are your chances of a bank or the number of outs, then cigarettes will not help you in any way!
