I know how bad the health and the worse playing online is usual I light a cigarette during the tournament, I wonder when I will play a tournament live as it will be, because I am conditioned to smoke and play and at the table can not do it, it. I have to have a lot of willpower and with this addiction, because I love playing poker makes me relax and poker will try this feat. I'll start now!

I smoked for over 20 years but have not smoked in 4 years 2 months thanks to vaping

I like to play poker and smoke (mostly weed, rarely cigarettes), but I agree with banning smoking in indoor public places. Smoking is not something that can be kept to yourself, it effects the air around you and give others no choice in breathing it in.

Vaping should be allowed, in moderation. No massive clouds so you cant see the table, the last time I played with my friends it was like that aha.

Dear Joshua,

I have not smoked in many years and now even the smell of cigarette smoke in someone's clothes is very noticeable. Even if people are not actively smoking, being seated next to a heavy smoker can affect my game a little. I realize it is not their fault and at one time I was a smoker too. It usually just reminds me that it is great that I have quit. I recently played a home game where people were smoking cigars and I couldn't stay, which is a shame because I was winning. Every time I see this one guy now, he keeps reminding me that I took the money and didn't give anyone a chance to win it back. I don't want to make him feel bad for smoking like people did to me when I smoked, so I say I just wasn't feeling well. I am sure he is wondering why I have never come back for a game. I should probably come up with an answer to that.

This day and age smoking is not allowed at any tables in cardrooms I know of. I can quit for months at a time , but unfortunately I am back to smoking. But no matter where I am I only smoke outside and always stay 20 feet away from anyone that doesn't want to deal with the smoke. Common courtesy.

Quit smoking about 3 years ago; when I did smoke, I did not smoke in my house. So I would wait for the breaks or sometimes afk during tourneys, run outside and smoke as fast as possible. I would stand outside the front door of house, didn't matter if it was 20 below outside or a downpour, don't miss it at all

I remember the days of smokers being allowed to light up in poker rooms. It made the experience pretty awful for almost everyone who was playing.

Most casinos have a smoking area that one can use when on a tournament break or when taking a break from a cash game. That seems to be a good compromise, I think.

And, given the laws in most jurisdictions, you will not see smoking coming back into poker rooms.

Still, I do understand some smoker's point being; if smoking is legal and is such a cash cow for governments, how can it be so restricted?

I, for one, do not miss the days of going home and needing a shower (or two) to get the smoke out of my skin and hair and needing a sealed laundry hamper for my clothes.

I cant image myself playing without smoking tbh. It really helps me to calm. Altough, I guess if i quit smoking for good, I wouldn't need a cigarette while playing poker as well.

Your question makes as much sense as if someone asked if it would be ok while sitting at a table playing poker, to be able to go over to each of their opponents while standing up and bending over next to their faces and arbitrary farting at each of them.

Public smoking is and has been a dying function for quite a few years now, so your question is without forethought [IMHO].

As others here have noted, should you desire to smoke there are always designated brakes during tournaments for those who so wish to do so.

If you really want to quit, just stop buying them and stop smoking them. Sure life will suck for about a month, but you'll get over it and move on.

I quit when I was in my early 20s, I'm 48 now.

I played when you could smoke at the table and really it's distracting. I smoked for 20 years and when they didn't allow smoking at the table any longer it really hurt my game having to get up to leave and have one. It's better for everyone not having this at the table though. The only player is should distract of inconvenience is the smoker. They signed up for it!

Hi 👋, the truth is better not to smoke, I also quit smoking. More by law, you can not smoke indoors, so from there I do not smoke. And with the cigar poker change it by water and candy. I also feel better healthier. What I recommend is that and not smoking again. This well in live tournaments do not stop smoking. But you have to make the break. Greetings.
