As others have pointed out, the term "sooted" is a deliberate misspelling of the word "suited" and is often used by those who are conversant in Pokerese.

I believe that it refers to the fact that, although suitedness only improves one's pre-flop equity by about four percent, many players choose to play any two cards that are suited because they are too perty :)p ) to lay down.

Preferably soooted connectors :)

[Stands up] Hi, my name is BiliousBetil, and I use "soooted." (Hi, Bilious) I freely admit that when I use the phrase I'm 100% kidding.

Cheers!

I'll switch to suited but still wearing my Sears Sucker Soot to the casino. You can the soot out of the gambler but not his suit.

You have to give some merit to on-line chat dialog box when you have taken a beat and you read this, "but it was sooooooooooooooooted". For some of us that is still priceless.

The suited man plays soooooted cards because they're there to play at their favorite casino. If you're going to post about your pet peeves at least know the origins of the words from days of yore.

That's what I've always thought too. Never once have I even considered that they think "suited" is spelled that way. :)

Do you and the Grammar Police Army approve of the other grammar NAZI's in the thread or are they to radical for you?

Well see, that's a bit of a complicated situation. That was actually our old name, but a while back the top brass had a meeting and decided it was too offensive, so we got re-branded.

This is about my biggest pet peeve "sooted", MY GOD IT MAKES ME CRINGE READING THAT WORD

My pet peeve is saying 'biggest pet peeve' as, by definition, a pet peeve is always of the greatest annoyance, therefore, pet peeve alone will suffice.

But surely it depends on the number of pet peeves you have? The peeve in question might be the biggest of them all. ;)

No, by definition, if it's your "pet" peeve, it is already the biggest. Other annoyances therefore cannot be considered pet peeves, merely other things that piss you off slightly less than your pet peeve.

Damn oxymorons, that's so weird why wouldn't pet peeve be the small peeve and "zoo" peeve be the biggest peeve?

I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to use 'sooted' in a sarcastic manner when donkeys like to play 'any two' suited cards and suck out! The comment usually is: "well, they were soooted"!

If this is your biggest problem in life, I'd say you're doing good! :D

I used to have a pet peeve.
Nasty animals. Very High maintenance!
I often use words and shorten them such as dnt for Don't and your as ur.
But i(I) think some people use sooooted jokingly.
Most people cant spell who cares really. Im not here to bash at you or anybody else cuz(cause) everybody has small things that tick them off.
Got a nice tickle out of this tho. I will make sure my cards are suited when playing against you.
