Often when looking at the poker forums I see lots of different names , with a few that I recognise, but many that I don't. I only see a fraction of these in the CardsChat Team League, and I think, do they not know? maybe they don't!

Here's the thing - I've been a member of this great community for over 6 years, but only found the Team League in my 6th year when I noticed on a thread that a lot of members seemed to know each really well and had built friendships with each other somewhere. I followed the links to the Team League, and immediately though that could be my sort of thing. The problem with playing online poker is that so often it lacks the social aspect that make the RL game such fun. The platinum freerolls are great of course , as you come across the same people very frequently and will get to know some people a little, but they are still 99% poker. This is where the Team League shines - it's so much more than just poker, and the poker side of it is greatly enhanced because you're not just playing for yourself but your teammates too. There are friendship, rivalries, banter and excitement of seeing your team (as well as your individual standing) move up and down the table over the course of a season. If I knew what I know what now, I'd have joined at least 6 years ago!

I now think of the Team League as the main course of CardsChat. While the freerolls are the starter (certainly that's where I started), and the special events the optional dessert, I see the Team League as unskippable main. Maybe you just haven't tried the Team League or only briefly noticed it and thought it's just for a clique of regulars (it very much isn't) , but signups are happening now for the Autumn season, and I cannot recommend this competition highly enough as a great way to vastly enhance your online poker experience (all without risking a dime of your own money!).

I've actually played the Team League twice and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately work has been making it harder to participate lately, but I really like the format. The team aspect brings out a lot of friendships, banter and fun.

While it seems fun, it does feel a quite long time investment, especially since timezones make it that games are usually rather late and I would feel really bad if I could not make to a game of mine.

Maybe I will look to apply in the future, but for now I think I will just look in the sidelines 🙈

I didn't realise Finland is 2 hours ahead of the UK meaning our earliest game at 2pm ET would be a 9pm start for you, if you are an early bird there's always the Friday game which would start at 4am for you 😴

I think I need dog or children before I could be dragged out of bed in 4am 🤣.

Sometimes the times work sometimes they dont, its mostly just the big commitment to tie myself to eleven weeks of games and inevitable risk of missing few games / letting the team down. Maybe I could be a joker/wild card in a team 🤔

Sorry we don't have joker/wild cards, as an example if you picked a Wednesday to play and you know that you can't make the next game then you could ask your team for someone to stand in for you, sometimes it's a simple swap, your Wednesday for a team mates Tuesday or it's simply a case of a team mate playing the extra game.
