For me cash games are the devils lare and smell like fermented donkey diaorhea...i run into so much variance its in inexplicable, so i now only play below micro stakes...and the rake doesn't even make it profitable.
Tourneys on the other hand thats my jam:)

I tried playing for cash and had no luck. For now, I decided to postpone the cash game and continue playing tournaments. At least if I fail, I won't lose much of my bankroll.

Which do you prefer tournaments or cash?
Particularly I like the two of the cash I like that the blind doesn't go up it makes the game much more technical, it only ends when I leave with or without chips, it's even a great advantage, but tournament is the glory to raise the cup the champion and by the way it is clear experiencing the dynamics of the bbs in question or survival as so many other players call it.

tournament

Like tourneys better for the in built in stop loss and everybody starts with on an even playing field.

Also because there's a definitive beginning and end!

As an old athlete that cant play anymore, I prefer tournaments. For me poker is not about the money but the thrill of victory when I take one down. It allows my competitive juices to flow.

Im starting to prefer tournaments more. I used to only play cash, but i got sick of losing on the river to 2-3 outers for multiple buy ins. Tournament you can lose a buy in, maybe buy in again and play for possibly hours on it. And in the end maybe even bink or make money. I need to study them more for sure.

Honestly it really depends on my mood overall. I really enjoy online tournaments as I can play more than 1 at a time to keep my interest up. However, if it is live, I would say both are equally great for me. I miss being able to drive to a card room on any given day and find a decent cash game and then my favorite was Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday tourney my local room hosted as I found I was able to cash fairly regularly there and be profitable.

I prefer tournaments because you have more control over your game and your rivals, you have more time to analyze your opponents than I play for cash

I enjoy both. Usually have a cash game going while playing a tournament online. In person, I tend to lean toward tournaments & keep cash games for friends

Cash is KING. Not everyone has 8 hours to invest in a tournament, it's nice to sit a table and leave when you get exhausted or want to take a break.

I prefer tournaments, especially those that are free, where the risk of losing money is zero!

In my humble opinion, tournaments are what show us at what level we are if we are made for this or not.

Tourneys are cool if speaking about abilities - e.g. you can win 1000$ with a buy-in of only 5 bucks.

Tourneys instead of Cash Game

I prefer tournaments myself. There is a lot of money to be won in cash games but the swings can get you in trouble fast and the temptations of cash games become too great for me. I always seem to want to play above my bankroll. I am far more successful at tournaments overall even though I have had pretty big success at cash tables from time to time. In the long run though I have lost more than i care to admit at cash tables and I'm up fairly big overall in tourneys.
