Tournaments VS Cash Games

Primarily I play cash games. Recently started playing tournaments again, forgot to play differently and loss my $16.50 buy-in.

If you play both too....how do you switch it up?

As an example....I pay more attention to position in tournaments.

I only play cash tournaments and usually win and in bad stages I also lose a lot, but it is part of the game.

It's true, it's very difficult to switch from cash to playing in a tournament! Completely different approaches and strategies of the game. Usually, if I'm going to play in a tournament, I don't play cash that day.

Live I am very patient and fold a lot and will sometimes only call with nuts and try to extract as much chips possible. but I can always fold to save my chips and no need to rush because blinds never go up. But in tournaments you have to be more aggressive and take more chances and bluff once in a while. I'll never bluff in a live game or very rare.

If you play live how you would play tournaments it would make you lose faster. and if you play tournaments how you play live you will be too cautious and miss a bunch of opportunities and blinds along with calling might dry up your chip stack.

If I'm not a lot of time I play a cash game because anytime I can go ....

In the longer term you can earn more money with tournaments. Provided you stay calm. During tournaments you can wait for good hands and do not do crazy things.

I only play in tournaments. I think it is more effective to focus and develop in only one direction, so I chose tournaments. In addition, playing in freerolls, I gradually increase my bankroll.

Mostly you want to start by tightening up your ranges by about 11%. people in tourneys have to play at some point cash players do not. this is because of the terribly small blind to win size in cash and the unusually high average stack size.. Due to the fact tat there are seldom antes in cash there is a lot less to play for pre so the edges are tighter and folding more hands is correct esp in the early and mid positions.

Hello, I always play tournament when I'm online and sometimes I play cash games .. I still haven't gotten used to the correct gameplay of cash games yet, some days I do well.. when I have little time to play I choose cash. (0.5 / 0.10 + -) usually 3/5$ buy in .. but the preference is for mtts and sit go tournaments! (0.55 / 1.10 / 2.20 at the moment).

Yes, in hold'em, the game in the tournament and the game in the cache are different, that's for sure, probably everyone will say that in general the game in the tournament and in the cache are different.
And here is such an interesting thing, I play hi / lo games, both tournaments and cash are no different, this kind of poker is played the same way.

In tournaments you need to pay close attention to stack sizes and take ICM into account. You need to know how to adjust your play when effective stacks are short.

I can switch from one to the other but I get into trouble when I multi table cash and tournaments together.

I think cash games are standard and classic. Because in cash games you can control your money and time freely in whole. But tourney force me to do something that is not my plan for the keep rising minimum bet and some idiots who always go all in without thinking.

Learning to automatically shift gears from Cash to tournaments and vise versa is something that comes with time. Sessions should be one or the other and not a mixer of of cash and tournaments but other then that it is just a mindset zone kind of thing.

We talking NLHE. This game is great for tournament play. I think NL is gross for cash game. I prefer PL games. Only ones now is PLO

cash games are better but only if you have a big bankroll and discipline, i usually play both but i am a low roller so i am just hanging in there but i play mostly small bounty builders at pokerstars
