She just simply don't understand my need to play. Shall I get her into it too so she backs off a bit?

My wife also loves poker, I believe that nothing changes in relation, if you play and your wife does not, we should always observe that we also have a social life besides poker, which many times leave Our wives furious, conciliar os dois vai deixar sua esposa feliz:):):)

Good luck with your venture!! Mine got interested by watching poker on TV with me, and then playing in home tournaments where the focus was on fun, and winning money was an added bonus. Although, she still will not play live poker, she understands how enjoyable it is to me and doesn't mind when I play live or on-line.
My advice would be to try and get her involved with "baby steps."
Good luck.

I have had my wife play live at a casino. She liked it, but likes online better. I haven't tried to get her to play much lately. She is very supportive of me playing so I'm lucky

do not try someone to draw it they should understand that they need it at least to relieve stress, try to make it clear that this game is not just a pastime but something more

My wife was angry when I started playing poker, paid a lot of time to work and poker, but time passed and she also wanted to play, I told her how I taught her, and now when she has free time for the weekend we play together and I did not force her

Relieve stress? If you understand the game and good at it then poker is one of the most stressful games ever!

I don't really think that's a good idea she would know more to jump on you if she doesn't like it with the passion we do. And she only going to see you loose if you don't make big money and hat can be more trouble.

In this respect, I was very lucky. When I play poker, no one bothers me. I just live by myself.

This is a very complicated subject, you accompany it in places that she likes to attend and you do not?
Someone has to give the first arm to cheer, start to accompany her in the places, talk that you have begun to go, so she goes with you.

I wish you luck, my wife is always complaining about me working in my projects while playing Poker at the same time.

I try to explain to her that unless I relax a little, with the poker game , the job will be too stressing. :deal:

My wife at first hated the fact I played poker saying it was a waste of time and money. I told her it's a hobby that I enjoy and could generate some side income if taken seriously.

Of course she didn't believe me but after running hot & binking a few tournaments she's not asking when I'll go back again lol.

My wife reacted to my poker enthusiasm with understanding, I taught her, and when I'm very lazy or I'm not able to play, my wife plays instead of me)) Sometimes even wins some money))

Do not let your wife stand in the way of your pursuit of becoming a professional poker player.

She should not stop you achieving your dreams because if she does then that is not a healthy relationship.

Consider to divorce if she keeps pushing you to stop it.

You two need to go see a marriage counsellor, and decide what to do. This isn't question about poker. This is a question about whether either of you believes that your playing is more important than the marriage.

Well, if you love your wife, i think better not to teach her that game. You know, it,s the same thing as online casino. Can easy ruined the family and life. I heard lots of stories, when people loose all their money on poker and casino.
