Your wife doesn't love poker? A great reason to get away from the wife!

OP - it took years but now Ms. gamboolgal has been playing NL for the last few years. As I said, it took many years before she transitioned from Limit to NL. We started playing in the mid to latter 90's at the Grand in Biloxi and later Harrahs in New Orleans...All along the Gulf Coast....

But she has developed into a good player and actually is very good at reading people. She is a instinctive player and does go with her reads. She is not interested in the math too much - but she will listen to me go on about pot odds, SPR etc, when she is trapped in the car going to the Casino....

Get a room at the Casino so she can have her own schedule, send her to the Spa, send her shopping, take her to the nice restaurants, spend some time with her at the pool, etc...play some low entry Donkaments with her. Get on a 4/8 limit table with her and have fun....

do not try someone to draw it they should understand that they need it at least to relieve stress, try to make it clear that this game is not just a pastime but something more

My "ex" wife used to always complain. What I never understood is she loves to play almost all other types of cards. She has always been a smart and lucky player at whatever she played. Didn't make sense to me. Looking back it was just because I really enjoyed it, and it made her mad that I enjoyed something.
She told anyone that would listen, her family of course how I was always losing money, I wasn't though. I am a pretty solid player and made a little bit of money. I would always cash out though and start over again. I even showed her the checks I would get from Poker Stars.
Then all of a sudden those of us in the US couldn't play anymore.
She was a wicked cooler for me, always seemed to lose when she came in the room.

She just simply don't understand my need to play. Shall I get her into it too so she backs off a bit?
