The power of positive thinking in poker. The power of positive thinking is the area I've been working on the most lately. And ultimately, I've come to the conclusion that my positivity in life is closely linked to my success in the game.

The day that I drove to Foxwoods and played my first poker tournament, was also the day I began a major change in my life. That day told me that I'd made the right decision with both things. :) translate video to english subtitles free
That's an awesome memory! Sometimes one decision can completely change the direction of your life. It's great that your first poker tournament also became the start of a positive new chapter. Wishing you continued success both at the tables and beyond!

The biggest change was meeting people from other parts of the world, and making friends with them, and talking to them about poker and other things in common.

Poker taught me that you can make the right decision and still lose, and that's just part of the game. That mindset has helped me outside of poker too. I'm also more disciplined with money and better at making decisions without letting emotions take over.

I used to be an avid video gamer—to the point of addiction.
Poker has led me to stop looking for new or different games; I only play a bit of PES with friends now and then. One positive aspect—though others might not see it that way—is that online poker rooms now offer games that last no more than 15 minutes.
All in all, poker has become the primary game in my life, and as I get older, I feel I made the right choice.

The biggest change has probably been learning how to handle losing without going crazy. A lot of the time, when I lose in one of the worst possible ways, I just laugh because I know it can happen to anyone. I usually play smaller tournaments, so I don't take those losses too seriously. If it happened at the final table of a major tournament, I'm not sure I'd react the same way. But overall, poker has definitely helped me become more patient and better at dealing with setbacks and negative situations.

For me, poker is a hobby, so I guess nothing much has changed. I just found some poker friends.

I think the biggest change poker brings to a lot of people is the way it changes how you think. It teaches you to be more patient, to control your emotions, and to understand that one result doesn't define whether a decision was good or bad. Those lessons go far beyond the table.

Poker also introduces you to a lot of different types of people and situations you wouldn't normally experience. It can improve your discipline and decision-making, but it can also humble you quickly and show you areas where you need to improve. For many players, the biggest impact isn't the money won or lost, but the mindset they develop from playing the game.

For me, the biggest impact has been financial discipline and risk management.
Respecting a bankroll and treating poker like a long-term journey rather than a quick-win game translated directly to how I manage money, investments, and time in life. When you stop chasing instant gratification and start thinking in terms of expected value (EV), your whole mindset levels up!

It has changed the way I make decisions—both regarding the game and my personal life—by allowing me to approach them more calmly; I used to be very impulsive when I was younger, and this has helped me improve in that regard. Financially, it hasn't made a huge difference since I only earn enough to get by, but fortunately, I’ve come out ahead—I haven't suffered any losses.

For me, the biggest change poker brought to my life was how I deal with uncertainty. Before playing seriously, I used to think everything had to be “right” or certain before making a move. Poker taught me that you’ll never have perfect information you just have to make the best decision with what you’ve got and accept the outcome.

Well maybe fun and opportunities to play games that normally I couldn't play by my own with my bankroll . But no big wins , not constant wins , enough wins to keep on grinding : No .

Thank you very much. :) Never been happier, and over the past eight years I have met so many nice people at the tables, and of course here online. :)
