I think certain hands are fine for limping when experts say you should raise.
A-X (small) suited is a great hand to limp from late position. But I frequently read that raising here is the ideal play.
I disagree here.
The implied odds received with suited Aces and it's ability to stack opponents means this hand should be seen against multiway opponents. If you raise here are people going to call with small suited connectors or suited rags? Sometimes, but not always.
Also if you raise and get a call here, it is often from Aces that dominate you. I find play is often loose passive. if an Ace hits the board and someone bets, it's very dangerous to call down. I'd rather try to see a cheap flop with a hand like A-3 suited. I can win big money with a flush but I can get away when an Ace hits the flop and betting goes wild.

I'm only going to limp in two situations and I don't always do that.
I limp when I'm in the SB with little chips (eg 26bb), low pairs (22,33) or a hand that has some value.
I limp in when I have low pair and the hand comes to me when two or more players have limped.
But other than that, I think it's completely wrong for the player who limps almost every hand to try to hit, usually who does this a lot is a recreational player, you just have to observe the (ex: VPIP for 58% and PFR for 2%), you can knowing that it's recreational, and that's what we usually find, especially in freerolls.
Another big mistake I always see at the tables is the player overvaluing when he picks up a hand with AX, and limps in, if he hits his A, he'll never know if he's ahead, especially when there's more than one player in the hand and usually the recreational player does this.
That's why it's important to study Range, by position at the table.(y)

I disagree not opening a small pair at early positions.

I don't like the fact that, for example, chess is good, and people consider poker to be too gambling

Ah, so many factors, so many variables. Heads-up, I'm raising. Other than that, I'm usually folding unless I'm on the big blind. Then I limp.

So are you gonna open limp with 50 bbs with your AXs in late postion in order to see a cheap flop?
Are you gonna open limp your AXs with 10 bbs?

If you open raise in late position with your ex. A2s , A3s , A4s , A5s (not open jam situation) the better Aces will very often 3bet you. I mean you are writing something here without explaining the situation and the dynamics. AXs no matter the second card have the ''blocking'' A card , this is something we want in order to be more aggressive in many situations especially ICM//bubble situations.
Be more specific and a more experienced member may tell us what to do, because I don't know either.

I'd rather raise with K 10 or 9 10 than with A 3 of the same suit, these are the most difficult hands to play, A opens on the flop and you don't know whether to raise or not, in an early position I fold this hand and in a late position I open it, somehow that's about how I play

I think that Ax suite is a hand that many players play too aggressively which is not recommended in all cases.

C bet. I find it dosen't mean much. Online they'll call anything if they have a pair. An example is I have AK, raise, C bet, C bet, C bet. Don't catch anything but are called the whole way and get beat by a pair of 4s.

There are so many circumstantial factors it's really impossible to make blanket statements about any hand, position or spot which will then equate to a one-size-fits-all or cure-all approach.

Poker is far too kaleidoscopic for that.

It's more like a prospective journey wherein there are many possible paths, routes or roads which we may choose in order to attempt to reach some destination or other.

There are tried and tested directions (many are even kind enough to lay signposts for others) but it is ultimately up to each individual to select their own means or transport and orientation. ;)

CardsChat is a very welcoming tavern & inn, slap bang in the middle of the poker landscape.

Frankly I see so much difference between 6-max cash games and full ring tournaments that this discussion is really arbitrary. What’s good for one is often not good for the other.

AXs are good for limping in, I agree, as they are hands that follow in the case of the nut flush. However, I disagree about limping in with better aces vs position. In general, limping in BTN, CO and HJ position shows a lot of weakness in your range, with me you will probably face an average open raise of 4X being in sb and bb with a much weaker range than yours and that will probably be enough for you to fold, not to mention the times I'm going to make the same open raise with stronger AX and that can get you into trouble if you call and hit your A . And even if you call open raise with a range that's in front of me, the flop still might not help you. Sometimes it's better to simplify with a raise and win a small pot, and in case villain calls you've already shown strength and that can help in a future bluff.

Sure against non thinking oponents this would be great but the problem is the thinking kind will start exploiting your limps and very soon you'll be in pots against them with your cards face up.

I remember that when I started playing there was a rule or knowledge that said that Q7 was always a winning hand because it was the system hand :ROFLMAO:, it cost me a thousand losses to realize that it was not like that, lol. I also agree with you that to limp some hands you have to know how to do it as well as the bluff, there is no rule that tells you when but you learn over time how to do it. Regards.

Here's one: 3x big blind is the best bet size for premium hands preflop. I personally prefer 2.5 big blinds, or even a limp depending on the stack sizes of the opponents.
