What to Do While Playing

what does everyone do while playing online poker? i find it hard to just sit and play. i usually pop in a movie that makes me comfortable while i play, aka star wars or lord of the rings lol

Focusing on your game is the most important aspect of poker. There is so much information you need to keep track of when it comes to your opponents you can't afford to be distracted.

I think you should focus on poker;
You stop paying attention to your opponents when you watch movies. But I like to listen to music while I play.

when I play tournaments I try to focus on other things for a short while every time the opportunity occurs. After a brake I come back more concentrated.

If you want to win money on poker you need to focus on your game all time. Believe me, this is impossible to watch movies or youtube and in that time win money on poker. If you play just for fun of course you can do that. But if you want money you need to focus on the game. The maximum that you can do is take some relax music. This can helps you to keep your patience.

Im listening music and pay attention to the game,i get too much distracted from game if i watch youtube or fb so i never thought to watch a movie while playing poker,just listening music and im fine.

Couldn't agree more!! You need to focus on the game and music is the best way for me.. Sometimes I watch TV but only when I play freerolls where most players go all-in for the first 30 minutes so strategy doesn't count much.

It's always interesting to hear that some people can't focus on poker and need some other kind of visual or audible stimulant. I guess the way to think about it is, if you were playing live at a casino etc would you pop a film on your mobile phone....or would you focus on what is going on and maybe chat to other players?

I try to concentrate on playing poker, noticing little things and figuring my opponents out, even though that may seem boring at times. If it's a deep run and i've been playing for a fairly long time I listen to music sometimes to get distracted from doing something stupid or unnecessary lol.
