I am shocked that nobody has mentioned the Cincinnati Kid with Steve McQueen and Edward G Robinson. Maybe it's my age, but I am talking about two of the greatest actors ever in a truly great movie.

Maverick is a complete pile of garbage of a movie. Worst movie I've seen in 10 years. It's like a Disney movie made for 6th graders. I stopped it after the first hour. Complete waste of time.

The Ungar story is sad. He was a true degen gambler. Make 1 million. Lose 1 million. Repeat.
And a total drug addict.

I think rounders is an awesome movie.I like it so much cause its kind of showing the reality of life of people who were involved in poker.The actors also were good.It teach us never to accept failure.

Lol, "The Grand." It's more of a comedy than anything else, though a few pros make an appearance. Saw it at Big Lots a couple years back for like $3 and had to get it, never even having heard of it before then. Girlfriend actually pointed it out. "What? What IS this? David Cross? Sold."

"When a guy sucks out on the river, on the internet, you cannot take the guy out in the parking lot and you cannot break his ****in' knees."

In the movie, they actually played at the final table- none of it was scripted.

Maverick is the very first poker movie I've ever seen, so it has a special spot for me. Rounders and The Cincinatti Kid are probably the most realistic though. Have never heard of a few others some have mentioned in previous posts, will check them out. Another less known one is "Lucky You." The acting isn't the greatest, but eh, it's a poker movie.

Rounders is a good movie. A good stellar casting. If not considering a fully poker movie, then I also consider Ocean's Eleven worth watching.

Cant wait for The Gambler by Mark Walhberg to be released. Alot of hype on that one.

Lucky You would be my seconds pick.Its a movie about a hotshot poker player tries to win a tournament in Las Vegas, but struggling with his personal problems.Very nice movie to watch.

Definitely Rounders, it initiated me into poker as well as maybe the crazy hand in casino royale, although it didn't display poker well, it was really cool to watch.
