What should I do if I suddenly raised my bankroll almost 900%?

I took fifth place in the PKO 4.4 Rumble and jumped from 4.4 to $84, the bankroll was $6, the deposit was $ 10, now it's hard to understand what to play next and in general it's hard to understand whether I really played well or I was just very lucky.Can you please give me some advice on how you handle this situation.So far, I have come to the decision that it is better to withdraw most of the money.

You got lucky to have such a strong finish with little room for error.

With $84 you should stick to $1 and $2 games.

If you withdraw any, then just play $1 games until you get back up over $50, and then you can mix in some $2 games.

If you play higher than this the chance of going bust is pretty likely.

Even what I suggest is pretty aggressive BR management, but you really can't play much lower.

Just keep doing what you are doing. No need to change anything up just yet. If you keep increasing the bankroll like this then mix in some bigger games.

The right decision is to withdraw part of the funds so that in case of losses you are a little calmer - part of your winnings were saved. In general, my opinion about your victory is luck.

Withdrawing some money is a very good decision, it is definitely better to withdraw than to lose. But in general, I follow a simple rule for myself. I only play tournaments, my bankroll is about $ 100, and I never spend more than $ 5 a day. Due to this, my bankroll is growing steadily.

I would withdraw $50. For the rest of the money, I would continue to play in tournaments for 1-2 dollars, or even lower. If you play high buy-in games, you can lose your entire bankroll. I've been in this situation before, now I'm just going to withdraw my winnings.

If you are an inexperienced player, then withdraw most of the money and continue playing on micro limits until you feel enough accumulated experience. But I can say that this amount is not enough for a bankroll, even for microlimits.

I would split it like this:

40% Withdrawal.
10% bigger buy-in (2 or 3 shots)
50% Keep on games from $1 to $1.50.

There are those who are against withdrawing. But think about this: Poker is only profitable if you take something out of it.

Play the way you played, play where it suits you. Under no circumstances should you enter a tournament with a buy-in of half your bankroll.

You should look into BRM (bankroll management).

If you have a $10 BR, playing $4.4 MTTs isn't good BRM.

That being said, you did very well.

Whether it was skill or luck doesn't matter too much now.

To do well in tournaments you need to play well and get lucky, it is always a combination.

As for what you do now, it depends on your circumstances and goals.

If you need funds, withdraw some.

However, if you wish to progress in poker and move up the stakes, I would recommend not withdrawing, and instead playing $1 & $2 MTTs and try to build you BR even further.

Your result was great (well done), but $84 is still the very humble beginnings of a poker bankroll... :wink:

Honestly it doesn't matter if the reason you won is completely due to skill.. because if you don't follow decent bankroll management your balance will become zero. With $84 you should really only be playing $1 mtt's maximum but personally if I had $84 I would play up to the $2's (anything under $2 is mind-numbing)

I had a similar experience. So learn from my mistakes. I went from essentially nothing to hundreds and started playing at a buy in level that my BR couldn't support but a couple of entries. I was confident, I just won all this money from scrap, ever onwards to bigger actual profits,...well let me tell you about a thing called variance,...

I was just on a heater. I lacked the experience or knowledge to recognize what was going on. Easy come, easy go.

Anyway, your BR is still actually insufficient. Absolute bar minimum is 100 dollars. People mentioned 1 dollar MTTs, but those are a waste of your time, or anyone's.

So, I'd advise you to grind CC freerolls a bit to get over a hundred. Ideally you would do that until you get to couple for hundred then go for 2 to 3 dollar MTTs. If you want to play for some money prior that benchmark, then do but try to not do that until you are at least in triple digits.

I also think that playing 4.4$ tournaments with such a bankroll is not the best idea, it's just that this bankroll can run out very quickly, but 1-2$ tournaments are just right.

First of all, I congratulate you on such a win! If I were you, I would withdraw part of the money, and I would play the rest in the same spirit as you played in this tournament! Don't try to go higher immediately, try to win more money to feel more confident at higher limits! Good luck at the tables!

Like I said, you were just lucky.

Your BR has to be at least 100 buy ins, study a little about it and adapt your game.

If you continue like this, you could lose your money.

Thanks for the congratulations, I did as you thought. I withdrew part of the money. I will continue to play micro limits.
