What would you do if you won a large sum of money in a tournament?

Took the words right out of my mouth I would do exactly this. But also buy into more expensive tourneys that I never had the chance to play and travel along with pay off debt.

First of all, I would definitely resign from my job. The next step would be a vacation trip. And then I would start planning my own business. But I need at least a million dollars.

Depends how much. If it was a over like 5 grand would take a little out to invest some and save some but if like over 25 grand would take a little more out, and obviously if really big like 50K+ would take least 70% out. Any way would invest some, save some, splurge some, but keep enough to play tourneys regularly with some shots.

Was reading a good article by Jonathan Little on MTT poker wins and what to do with winnings. He talks about paying yourself and enjoying the win because tourney deep runs and wins (ie top 3) don't happen a lot so need to enjoy it a little when it does.

But yeah overall depends on the prize. Variance is brutal in MTTs so if I won one but taking a big amount out would increase risk of losing remaining due to variance I'd leave more in and play more MTTs. So like a 2K win I'd keep most in the roll, but a 5K win I'd take least some out for me.

In case of a big victory, I would help my mother (lost my job), my brother (he started his family), friends who need money, donate one part to children who need treatment (in our country children are treated by sms), the rest would be used for traveling with his wife and children and if he stays would make them better living conditions (and now we live well)

I would take up poker as I don't do it now. Wouldn't be distracted by anything else, learning and working on the game. That would clear up a lot of questions.

I would probably buy a small apartment, and the rest i would invest in crypto or something like that. Either way i would definently not play poker for a long time.

Carry on regardless, It sure would be nice to win a million Dollars in a huge Tournament, but I wouldn't go mad and start playing high stake games.
I would spend a lot on my Family etc. Invest a little here and there, but in general I would still play games buying-in for what I am happy to lose, I think that is what makes Poker so much fun, because I don't overstretch my Bankroll and stay within the 1% rule.
Playing Poker is not a way out of the Rat Race, it is like going to a football match, or Cinema, or even going for a nice meal, it is a night out with Friends, playing a game we all enjoy and having a laugh at the table, sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, "C'est la Vie" as the French say, That is Life, it happens, get on with it.

I would buy a car formatted for people in a wheelchair so I could start to drive again! Then I would take it and invest the rest. Of course I would leave some to play poker! Oh yeah first I would take some depending on the amount I won and hook up my sisters, brother and mostly my amazing mother.

Can't win big amount in poker, these are just cents, pennys, even on high stakes compare to other money involved things out there.

I should win 10+ tourneys with 1 million+ prize, that maybe would be enough to pay out the parasites and what i would do? ::
