The only thing that helped me the most was understanding that not all hands have to be played. In other words, everything changed for me when I just stopped playing with junk

Great topic! One of my biggest “Aha!” moments was realizing that not every strong hand is worth going all the way with — especially post-flop. Early on, I used to overplay hands like TPTK or overpairs without really thinking about the board texture or my opponent’s line. Once I started asking myself, “What hands beat me here?” or “What is my opponent trying to represent?”, I began making much better folds and saving a lot of chips.

Another big shift was understanding just how powerful position is. Playing in position gives you more information, more control over the pot, and often lets you win even with weaker hands. That alone helped me tighten up in early positions and loosen up in late — and it’s made a huge difference in my results.

That most of my money comes from other players' mistakes, not my pro-level brilliant play.

When you can't exploit, just leave and join another table.

What a great discussion . Yes realized don't really have to play every hand even though feel like being encouraged to do so is important! Found winning more and playing better game. Accept that just cannot have wining session every time you play is also very important as well.

My biggest moment was after grinding 100$ just with freerolls and playing exactly as pros adviced in books but i never controlled it due to emotional ups and downs. So i feel like its possible to earn even more with poker but i avoid it and keep it only as a hobby, just because it also makes lonely if you sit constantly at home alone and playing tournaments. Thats not a life i imagined.

Mine was when I understood the importance of knowing how to wait and to let strange hands pass.
