What was your introduction to poker?

First Time

My younger brother invited me to play a .25/.25 home game with his friends. I was nervous that I would just lose all my money, so I tried to study a few YouTube videos, but they were mostly the SUPER introductory stuff. I also played on the Facebook App.

I really enjoyed playing live, and there was a single particular hand that got me hooked.

I was in position, and I turned the nut straight with the backdoor nut flush draw. We ended up getting it all in, and I failed to hit the nut flush (which I needed). I lost the hand, but I was excited to have correctly known where I stood in the hand.

Following that, I studied and started playing freerolls on BetOnLine. About 3 months later I played my first $40 live tournament at a local charity room, and I took 1st for a prize of ~$535. I've been grinding ever since.

I was at a friend's home, and they showed me how to play holdem, because i already knew how to play poker. I remember the thrill, amazing experience!

14 years of age at a pool hall, I saw the players giving money to the guy passing the cards out and asked why they were giving him money, they said to deal so I asked to deal a game.

I was 19 years old my best mate invite me to go with him to the casino in Valencia spain in that time I didn’t know nothing about poker so I’ve been watching him play one the tables of cash games it was a fantastic night. He did explain to me the rules about the game and from that day I knew poker will be one of my passion in my life.
