you can be the best poker player ever, but when comes a bot from the poker room, a superuser account i mean , unless you know it is a SU you ll lose your money cus you will be dealth cards what you cant fold or you ll get rivered simply.... and believe me is full of those in each room what existson the net

Let's sum up:

1. Bots exist.
2. They're not very good.
3. Strong players don't care if they're playing against bots, since bots are generally predictable (just like playing against an opponent who you have very good reads on).
4. Bots are prohibited by the major sites.

The derail on cash vs. MTT's was interesting imo.

I know they exist and are fairly easy to play against I was just wondering how widespread they are and whether they are only at the lower limits...

I've been playing for just over a week and in most of the tournaments (single table) I've played in, this person is there. And it can be at different times of the day.

Now I know on it's own that doesn't mean anything because obviously I'm there as well, but I looked this person up and they've played in over 10 000 sit n gos in the last 90 days. Now that's about 110 a day. For 90 days. Now assuming they have 12 hours a day to play, that's 9-10 an hour. Every day, for 90 days. And for who knows how long before that. If you win a sit n go they last roughly an hour and unless you do something silly early or cop a rough beat it's pretty easy to last 30mins.

I'm pretty new to online poker so perhaps that is fairly common?? I'm not suggesting he/she is a bot (I haven't played for anywhere near long enough to tell that sort of thing) but I am very interested in peoples thoughts about that sort of playing quantity... is that what a lot of people do?!

Grinders who massively multitable can play hundreds of STTs a day. They're 12-24 tabling and starting up new ones as soon as they finish one. It wouldn't be that unusual. Not to say you haven't found a bot, I'm just saying what you describe can certainly be accomplished by a full-time grinder, and I think that's the most logical conclusion to jump to.

I will teach you something that you can remember from now on. This person is called a professional poker player. Being a professional poker player doesn't mean you have to be as good as phil ivey, or phil hellmuth, it just means that you play poker for a living, and make it your living. If this person plays that many sng's for 12 hours a day like you claim he is more then likley a professional poker player.

the truth is ....the sites dont care. its more rake for them and that is ALL they care about. i play $50nl and $100nl and at least 5 of 9 players are at 20-24 tables......the only way to play them is to know they are doing it and trap them, and they are trappable ( is that a word?...lol ).

Don't worry about whether there are bot programs. Think about it like this - poker is a game of incomplete information. The most difficult players to play against are the ones where it's very difficult to tell what they have. As an example, you raise preflop utg with AA and get called by the button. Flop is Th8h2c. You cbet, button raises. Some players you can confidently put on two pair or a set and have an easy fold. Other players will have a lot of draws in their range. Finally, some players will have strong hands like sets, strong draws, and complete and total air in this spot. Who's the easiest to play against?

Now, imagine an opponent that generally is very predictable, like a bot. How tough is it to play against him? If it's very difficult to play against him, start studying how to play.

Do bots ever bluff? I'd imagine it would be quite difficult to define a set of parameters that results in a bluff (unless it is just random).
