What's made the biggest difference in you poker career

Is there one thing that changed your poker career, for me it was understanding position and pot odds (i know that's two). When i first started i was all over the place sometimes i would win but mostly a would lose for long periods. Once i understood position something clicked and my wins started to overtake my loses.

I would agree with you, I had the same problem when i first started. Especially playing online, Position means everything, for me though learning how to manage my bankroll was key. 5 percent torn, and buyins worked well for me.

Bankroll management! When I started playing poker I even haven't heard about it. I could win money in some tournaments and after that lose it in one tournament.
Now I am very careful with this one.

I Agree position is very important especially for progressing players still learning and building a bankroll.

for me learning how to be creative and studying good players then trying to think how would I beat this player and getting into the habit of improving my observations and get comfortable playing in uncomfortable situations

I haven't noticed it, but from time to time my poker skills get better.
I think it's the experience to sit on the table and play for example some freerolls.
At the first match I don't really know how to act in such a big tournement, but you can make a lot of different impressions through a match and the next time you play you have already learned a lot.
Without really noticing it I got familiar with the ring games, the Sit & Gos and tournements.

Experience is a big thing, the more hands and people you play the better you will become. As long as you learn from your mistakes.

the biggest difference was to analyze well the opponents and when you go in the top positions and few opponents are not risking all won chips in a single hand.

I also realized that when I have signed up at many poker sites and playing a lot of freerolls at the same time, I always loose my concentration and risk much more than necessary. I loose much more tournements without running deep.
Instead of when I'm playing only one tournement I play more carefully and can face much longer the match.

Well I lack BRM unfortunately atleast online....

But position is def a huge thing that made my game a lot sharper and continuation bets.
Years ago with AK on a 10 high board I would always check-fold.

Now Cbets let me take it down when years ago I would wimp out.

LOSING....painful and truthfully...and mostly the losing after the studying...its easy to want to give up when there are things that you think you understand but when you try to practice and it doesnt work out. I have reached this point a lot and everytime i try to go back to the way I was when i atleast felt profitable but it doesnt work out. I want a better understanding of the game and I will not stop until I find it. Not just what works some of the time, I want to know how FROSTY012 who I am a big fan of produces. I wanna be like FROSTY012

Several things have made big differences for me. It's hard to pick one that had the most impact, partly because the later ones likely couldn't have happened without the earlier ones. With that caveat, one was when I stopped thinking everyone should play what I considered good poker, and started focusing much more on how they actually play. This was a key in two ways. It led to getting better at exploiting opponents' weaknesses and leaks, and also to not exposing myself as much / as often in tricky situations against decent and better players.

For me it was learning value and using bets as a way of seeing my opponents hand. I used to slow play big pocket pairs for example, and got pissed when i got beat. Now ive learned how to extract value out of good hands while knowing when its time to fold.
