When dealing with a big bankroll.

Recently, made a bigger than usual deposit into my bankroll. I got butterflies in my stomach LOL!!!! I'm confident though. The butterflies are like 70% excitement and 30% nervousness. I'm curious, what do you do to calm your nerves when you make a bigger deposit than usual into your bankroll?

I think there’s not a general rule, but if the amount you are playing with makes you feel excited or nervous, maybe its better to play with less money till that excitement goes away. Keep emotions away from the tables. If money is not a problem then by all means have fun and excitement

Have some sort of withdraw target plan or exclude yourself with responsible gambling tools if tired and tilted,
That nervousness is loss anxiety which is real but to calm my nerves I just say yes need number 1 time to stop messing around.
Wednesday is the day and relax for a few days play freerolls,smaller stakes and study.:icon_stud
Make sure your well fed and rested on the days you go for it putting hundreds or thousands of bankroll at risk out there floating on the felt.

On the days you take shots ask yourself what would Vasquez do?
Have fun enjoy the game for the struggle it is at times.:laugh:

Be sensible though do not play with more than you can afford to lose variance can shatter rolls and confidence good luck.:idea:

make a training plan to use frerolls and games with low entries, because nervousness and fear make you lose big hands and lead to the burraco

If your bankroll can sustain your games comfortably, you should feel comfortable in those games. Sure you're tossing money around, but you need to be focused on playing on the game, not the financial impact it will have if you have a bad session (or a few). Also, the skill gap from limit to limit can increase substantially so your bankroll may need to be larger to compensate for this until you are comfortably beating games within that limit. There's a reason other players are playing those limits, so you want to be mindful of that going in. I've played every limit from 2NL to 1000NL and I can tell you someone who consistently winning player at 200NL likely has somewhere between $10-20K in the bank, so a few buy-ins aren't gonna be big deal to them, but if it is to you, consider playing at lower limits where you feel more relaxed in the games. Otherwise you're just gambling, and I can tell you firsthand it's thrilling when you win massive pots, but maaaaaan when luck swings the other way and you lose more money than most people make in a month and you aren't bankrolled for that level of play, it SUCKS. Better to play within reasonable limits and be able to KEEP playing even when you run bad, rather than losing big and feeling frustrated, panicked, and desperate afterwards,

Bigger Bankroll ?

Whenever I deposit 2 or 3 times more then my regular Bankroll, I believe I play much better. I dont bet a crazy and Im more confident because I have more of a cushion. I have more time and Bets to invest with. More Options, less stress.

My first deposit was the heaviest I made and what I did with that money was spend it all, I played everything I could play, I was happier than a child in a candy factory.

Never made a deposit on any site, mainly because I do not like gambling with my own money, On-line Poker, is just a hobby to me and my only drive is to make a bankroll from free-rolls and play with everyone else's money.
I have been playing for Free! for over twenty years and still play low stake buy-ins and free-rolls.
My intention was never to become rich from Poker, just play a game I enjoy for free! which I have done on several different site's and still do,
Live games, I have paid out money to buy-in to some games, but there are opportunities to play big tournaments for free if you look for them, Grosvenor casinos have a On-line gambling site, but they also organized Pub games, under the Vegas 100 banner.
The idea was simple, you played in weekly Pub tournaments to amass points over a 13 week period, then went to one of their Casino's to play a Regional Final for real money and a chance to fly to Vegas, to play in the Vegas 100 final with something like £50,000 in Prize money.
All this was paid for by the Pub Landlords in a monthly subscription, which gave them the Table tops and chips etc to run a weekly league game, and they had increased bar sales on night's they were usually quiet.
I went to a lot of the Quarterly Regional Finals over the 6 or 7 years I played, and even made the National Finals once, which of course introduced me to playing in Casino's for real money tournaments and cash games.
You don't need to be mega-rich to play Poker, just the opportunity to play for free, make a little money and grow from there, here in the U.K. we have a saying "Mighty Oaks from Tiny Acorns grow" but just like Poker it takes Time and Patience.

you should always try to play according to your bankroll and, if possible, improve your game, poker is first and foremost a discipline, if you play by bankroll then problems usually arise, unless you get into a serious downstreak

The suggestion is to play with caution, betting amounts of money with small values as if you hadn't made a deposit larger than normal .

I built my bankroll by playing in daily freerolls. I do not risk my own money, I follow the bankroll management and thanks to this, I have been making a profit every month for more than a year. I'm not nervous and gradually, step by step I go to my goal.

I am also working from free rolls to build balances on multiple poker sites.

I do not see any difference in depositing a small or large amount, it is the same for me, but I see that there is a difference in the way of playing for me or for opponents when the value of the buy-in increases, as the play becomes more careful, and also the competition is more powerful on the part of everyone.

When I make deposits, I only think positively so that I can double my investment. But lately I do not make deposits I manage with only money that I win in tournaments or Cash tables.

it's not very nice to think about the money you invest as a bank and then as a move in a tournament. This means that you invest more money than you can lose. I started making small deposits and when I spend the bank then I put it in again from the card, it's better to have my money in the card than on the poker site, at least that's what I think

Just play the tables you normally do or the ones you are most comfortable at. Don’t play at a limit you aren’t used to.

Knowing myself, I’ll lose it. I don’t know how to play on bankroll. I don’t have discipline. It’s sad

They say in life don't live beyond your means same thing applies to poker don't gamble beyond your means. If you make a big deposit utilize smart bankroll management.

Answer 1: If it's a bankroll for poker you don't have to make deposits. Just have your starting bankroll and work with it.

Answer 2: Play whatever pleases you and don't forget there are always money to redeposit whenever needed.

I always get excited when I do something for the first time. A big deposit is exciting to butterflies in the stomach. I tell myself that I deserve this moment and I can afford it. You need to play by bankroll, so as not to worry about playing expensive significant tournaments

I think the key is to make sure that the deposit you make matches your level of play. If you feel comfortable and have the feeling that you are on the right pace then there is nothing to worry about.
I believe that butterflies in your stomach are one of the signs that things can work out.
