I notice a lot of times that I often play when there are distractions, or mentally I'm just not ready for a session and often end up with poor results. Lately I've been playing less but make sure that I have the time and the distractions are at a minimum. What do you do to get ready for your session? Do you have any rituals? How do you know when you're ready to sit down and play your best game?

I have to play when nothing distracts. Otherwise there will be problems in the game.

Having an isolation and I try to inform my wife and children not to bother, I elaborate a strategy and most of the time I end up losing to a clueless fish

I know that I'm ready to play when I'm feeling good mentally and physically. But when I'm not, I still play sometimes, but only freerolls or micro stakes games.

I like playing when someone is watching. I talk through my hands than and tell them my thoughts. It seems to help out.

I try to play when I feel fresh and switch off everything what distracts me. Sometimes I hear music but usually it is just and the cards.

I played 100+ tourns in February and for someone that hasn't played that many or just played on a regular basis in years is burnt out. Add in the time studying and on the message board thinking about hands and I know its time to take a few days off playing and reduce my exposure to poker.

And that's my point, when you played more than you're used too or you're involved with something more than you're usually involved with then a break can do wonders for you. Didn't play today and wont for a few days. Will use the time to do some lessons in the 30 day course, lol and focus on my opponent tendencies but going to take it easy.

I play best when I have some type of balance going in my life as well like not worrying about things or making sure I get things done. I have a checklist of goals/things I want to accomplish every month and if I start slacking on that then I know things aren't right as well.

So finding balance, doing other things in life besides poker or one thing is also important.

Hello, the worst thing that can happen to me is that they bother me when I play. I don't have any ritual but I try to be alone to play and not to be talked to so as not to get distracted and I only play 3 or 4 daily MTT tournaments nothing more

I try an hour before the start of the session, complete all the tasks for today and prepare for tomorrow, and be sure to eat. Nothing to distract me. And a prerequisite is that I need privacy to try to enter the alpha state of the game. Which is very rare, unfortunately.

I have found out for myself that if I am content and mentally balanced, then this also has a positive effect on my ability and my game in poker. Sports and a certain basic level of fitness are the main things that help me. However, you can't force this status, which can be a challenge, especially in tournaments with fixed starting times. That's why I prefer cash games most of the time, because you're more flexible.

Every day we have to face a lot of different situations that leave their mark on us, including not always positive.

Sitting down at the poker table, leave all the experiences of the day out of your field of vision. It would be a big mistake to try to take revenge on a rude boss by aggressively drawing a mediocre hand. Although this situation is stupid, it is quite common. Often people vent their emotions in roundabout ways.

There are several ways to tune in to the game. Someone comes to watch a small video of a good poker player's game, someone needs to take a walk or just get distracted, someone needs to sit in silence for a few minutes to relax and calm down.

Personally, I review my database before the game. I choose the biggest losses, scroll through them in my head again so as not to repeat them at least in the near future, i.e. the next game session.

I also very clearly adjust the background sound of the computer before the game. It's not loud music at a medium tempo that suits me. The main criterion is the correct volume. I should only hear the signal of the room about the action and my inner voice.

In general, I have no rituals. All I need while playing poker is a cup of coffee. Coffee helps me be more focused and calm.

In the evening on weekdays seem to be more profitable. Weekends tend to have many more players creating much higher variance.
When it comes to playing satellites, I usually play the last satty before the tournament. Most of the time, the better players have either played or already registered.

It's very rare for me to get in the way of playing. Well, except perhaps relatives who suddenly need something from me. But knowing that I'm busy playing, they usually don't stop me from playing. I don't have any other reasons.

All I need while playing poker is a good rock music. That kind of music helps me be more focused.

When I'm isolated from my problems or stress away from the tables.

If I find myself emotionally unbalanced, I don't start a session.

I believe it's nice to be rested, concentrated and relaxed, because that way we can make better decisions and consequently get good results.

I'm never ready for the game as it should be, I have no choice. I play when I come home from work with the hope of not being eliminated quickly, to be able to enjoy the game for at least an hour.
