if you had the winning hand, how did you lose? you might be in the lead on the flop or turn with a strong hand that has a lot of equity to win, but it isn't the winning until the board completely runs out. it might sound like i'm nit picking with how you phrased things but it's really important to recognize your equity vs your opponent and how future streets can affect those numbers.
That’s this forum in a nutshell
How did I lose with a winning hand?
Not a winner if you lost with it. Seems simple enough. I can see you losing with a good hand, or the 2nd nut hand.
I don’t understand how you lose a hand with the winning hand. Not “you folded the best hand”
It’s like another thread I saw here today. Guy lost after flopping three aces. The flip gave his opponent a full house because he had pocket jacks.
What did I do wrong?
And there were at least 40 different answers, as if buddy did 40 different things wrong. Do this. Do that. Don’t do this. Don’t do that.
How would anyone who’s legit trying to learn poker actually gain anything from asking a bunch of randoms who have their own opinions and own beliefs on what THEY would do? I used to watch my ex play on AP and I’d cringe at some of her play. And she won more than I did. So how would anything I would do be of any use to someone else who plays hands differently from me?
