Actually I take solace in the fact that so many seem to think online poker is luck based. Makes me confident that there are still plenty of fish in the ocean.

For me it just seems that I get bad beats way more online, than I do in real life.

I dont have stats to back it up but i know its not as bad as it seems but seriously fulltilt always seems to be givin out bad ass beats. last night in a tourny. AA cracked three times in like 200 hands. Thats crazy. It does seem like whoever the big stack is wins like everyhand that he goes all in on its so messd up.

Completly and totally agree with this guy. Full Tilt scrws you over on the river and pokerstars scrws you over on the turn. The problem with the turn scrw over is that it is often not as obvious. Agian there is no software that can prove this but it often seems like on pokerstars that anytime you get two pair someone will hit their pocket pairs on the turn for the set. Next time you lose to a set on pokerstars just look at where the set was made. In my experience 4 out of 5 sets on stars are made on the turn.

I do not have pokertracker or any other software of that type to test with, but I too have had the experience of noticing a ridiculous number of suckouts at a couple of sites...FTP, STARS, BODOG, UB, ABSOLUTE...hey, wait a minute...these are the sites I play at the most!

In general, online poker is NOT RIGGED (with a few sad notable exceptions of employee cheating and software vendor cheating). IT IS however, not perfectly random and RNG can and does develop patterns that can sure look downright suspicious.

Personally, I tend to play a little differently online than I do live, and if I do see myself stuck in a patterned moment (like pocket pair after pocket pair, or a small series of one-outer suckouts...always on the river of course) I will tighten up or loosen up depending on which end of the pattern I am facing.:D

Ok, I agree that poker sites should stand a chance of losing a lot if proven guilty of any form of rigging, but I have to ask this. Everyone was constantly saying that poker sites were not rigged before the Ultimate and Absolute debacle, then the truth came out now, why is it that they are both still aloud to do business after what happened? This tells me that the policing of online sites is heavily flawed and therefore there are always going to be people who will believe that trusting these sites is hard to do.

From what I have noticed most of the statistical programs are actually created by and for the sites, so why should we trust them? I would like to see the statistics of a given tourney, not the entire site. The next time you are in a tourney, I would like to see you just keep track of what goes on at your table for an hour. You will be surprised at the number of times the statistics will be out of whack. I mean the odds of certain hand combos alone is crazy. How many times have you seen three players in a pot , say with hands like JJ KK AQos and the board hits KJX A 10 or similar. Statistically you should only see these combos maybe 1:1,000,000 but I know I have seen it come up three and four times an hour.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying that online sites are rigged I am just not convinced that they are not.

two things are wrong with this post.

In your OP you are complaining about getting rivered and losing with what was a better hand. That is a flaw by definition with the RNG if you believe it predicting outcomes. The absolute scandal was about users seeing hole cards completely different as they are still not able to change what cards would appear, they were just able to play with all the cards face up on the table (that is how I understand it anway, if I am wrong I would like to know it).

Second - all the stats from one tournament are not representative enough to be considered accurate. by evaluting only one tournament you aren't getting a large enough sample to make any kind of reasonable conclussions. that is why there is a thing called the Law of Large numbers. If I flip a coin the odds say that I have a 50/50 chance to get either heads or tails. But If I only flip it twice and get heads twice is the coin rigged?

Of course I realize I just wasted my time typing this but if even one person gets off the its rigged train I guess it was worth it.

It feels to me that on stars if i go all in with a good and and a bigger stack calls me with a mediocre hand, he will beat me every time. But im not saying its rigged because i have no stats to back it up, it just feels that way. So if im short stacked at a table i find myself hesitating more to call.

FULL TILT - FULL TILT - FULL TILT. Oh wait, did I say Full Tilt? The only site where I can't clear a deposit bonus and make my deposit back. The only site where the worst hand preflop always wins-or mostly wins-on the river.

I have felt this way late in tourneys before. (That the bigger stack somehow comes out ahead more often than not, regardless of the hand)
The more that I have been playing live lately, I think that it is merely variance in the game. It is sick to see the chip leaders call and win pot after pot with crap though. lol (not meaning calling me, just saying that they have the money and can afford to call with nothing if pot odds say so)

actually, i've been playing some live poker lately, and i can honestly say that of the last ~10 times i've been all-in, the worst hand has won 8 of those (including a couple of my own suckouts). live is rigged too amirite

I do not play in any of the big tourneys because thats over my head and I've got no problem admitting to that, no use in throwing money out the window. In the low and micro levels is where I usually get hit by the turn. Agian thats just from my experience.

Sadly I doubt it.

Got to love the senior members here like this guy. Most aren't like him but his type are so welcoming and so great to people who do not have their amazing talent and millions of dollars from playing the online games. Haven't you all heard of this guy and seen him playing on TV? Azzhole.

I am new here too. But WVHillbilly seems like a pretty nice guy to me.

The bottom line is the precept of this thread has been proven to be false by multiple hand histories. Multiple times. On forums, in newsgroups.. over and over and over.

It is the argument of a bad player to pin the blame of his bad play anywhere except where it belongs: on himself.

In the same regard: Calling someone who clearly points out the fact that an argument is false an "Azzhole" (sic) is character assassination and not even a real argument.

Similarly, it is the refuge of fools and cowards.

love,

Thats so strange i feel the same way when i play on full tilt poker i always get rivered not as much as pokerstars thats why i prefer to play on pokerstars. I've won or cashed lets see abour 4 free roll tournaments in pokerstars and only won like two free roll tournament out of like a million. The only thing that I don't like about pokerstars is taht they dont have frequent free rolls. I'm trying out ultimate bet and seeing how that is like for now maybe i'll like it.

Really? Little ole me? Well I do declare.

I make what was obviously a true statement (that YOU really think online poker is rigged) and I'm an asshole? Ok, I can't deny that. If I were you though I'd quit subjecting myself to rigged games and withdrawal your entire BR today before you lose it all to horrible bad beats. Seriously why, if you believe the game is rigged, would you continue to play at it?

TIA
