I would like to see Tom Dwan taking the WSOP ME, but he's not much of a tourney player.. my guess is Phil Ivey..
Actually he's pretty decent but hasn't invested alot of time in them (ie. headsup in one event so far in the WSOP2010.. not too bad).

My predicition ...>>> it won't be me so I don't really give a shit.. BUT.. I'm guessing it'll be one of the internet/younger crowd (maybe one of the more well-known online MTT regs, ie. Dan Kelly, Matt Stout, Steve Gross, etc. etc. etc.... zillions of them.. which kinda narrows the odds, lol)

gotta go with Phil Ivey!

even tho its probably going to be some chump we have never heard of that gets ridiculous ammounts of luck and suckouts out over and over (joe cade *cough*)

You might have not seen Joe Cada on your television before last year's Main Event but he was not some total unheard of poker player to the online community.

I think the sheer amount of money he stands to win in side bets if he takes down a bracelet (somewhere in the $10 million ballpark apparently) will be motivation enough to overcome any lack of tournament experience that he may or may not have.

Remember that he's plenty capable of playing a TAG game as well, we just don't see him doing it in the games like HSP that we see him in.

That's not to say I or anyone else actually expects him to win the Main Event, of course. I just think Dwan's probably got a better tournament game (when he's motivated) than people give him credit for.

I would like to see Phil Ivey win it. But it might be someone no one has ever heard of.

There are so many entries in the ME now that it's become a crapshoot, much like the online satellites. It's like the lottery. Someone will win, but it won't be you or me and it probably won't be anyone you've ever heard of.

It will be whoever is rushing for the tournament and has the skill to exploit that.

My biorhythms will prevent me from even getting to take a shot at it, so it don't really matter, cause we won't be able to pronounce his name anyway......

Why is there this almost global assumption that the ME winner will be a "he"???!!! bluff Magazine declared 2010 to be "The Year of the Woman" and look what's happened so far--Annie Duke won the NBC HU Championship and Vanessa Selbst took down the NAPT ME at the Mohegan Sun. And there's always Annette Obestrad who is very very hungry for such a win, not to mention a number of other very skilled female players.

I think the time has come for a woman to prevail. If that doesn't happen, I think we'll see one or even 2 gals at the final table...

Gabe Kaplan

This will then kick off a huge retro-TV revival with Welcome Back Kotter and other mindless entertainment from the 70's.

Most of you think it will be somebody we haven't heard of. If it HAD to be a pro, who do you think would win?

He might win it, he has a chance.

I am hoping Phil Ivey wins it.

I think a pro will take it this year. I'll go out on a limb and say there will be at least two legit pros at the final table. One will go in short stacked and the other, who will eventually win, will be 4th in chips.

....but I'm sure some 24 year old nobody has ever heard of will take it.
