This guy is dead since decades but people still mention him everywhere possible where poker is being played or discussed.

Not sure what your definition of "never hear about anymore" is. Not sure.

One player that comes to mind is Chris Moneymaker. He completely changed the poker world after winning the 2003 wsop Main Event and helping create the poker boom, but compared to some other famous players, you don’t hear about him as much today.

Another name I think of is Tom “durrrr” Dwan. He was one of the most talked-about online high stakes players during the poker boom era, but he became much less visible compared to the past.

I think poker changes quickly, and many players who were stars in one era can become less talked about when new generations of players and new formats appear. It would be interesting to hear which forgotten poker legends other players remember.

Chris Ferguson and Howard Lederer, Full Tilt Poker Executives After the fund freeze scandal, players became outcasts. Ferguson returned to the WSOP for a short time, but both are now completely out of the blue
