I started as a joke, without any pretentions. I started playing pretend money. One moment I left 3,000 chips of fictitious money in one day and went through 2.5 million chips. This surprised me. That's when I started to play for real money and make this game a lot more serious. Today I treat him as something that can give me money in the future.

I don't freaking know why I play. It's interesting and challenging, and is a good break from video games or being a couch potato. I certainly don't do it for the money; I'm sure that I'm down a few hundred since I started playing again a few months ago. But I like to see my stats, and observe that I'm making it further into the tournaments as time goes by so I'm getting better. And that sense of getting better is a big motivator to continue.

I don't really look at it as poker. I think of it as a guessing game. I like to be right so watching people and how they bet intrigues me cause I am guessing his hand. I like guessing whats gonna turn and river cause I feel psychic lol when I hit the right cards. I really just like playing the game.

I am naturally a competitive person and like to win at everything. Poker feels like a battle of intelligence and patience with your competition so I like to test myself. Money is nice for sure but it's not the reason I play.

A.. Its a fun game to play.. its more like a lottery a lot of times with a new draw every hand.. I know there is a study to it and all that.. and certain people 'think' they have the game mastered but no one told the guy calling my AA preflop all in with K3 he out flops me and makes a boat at the river!! Is it esp or luck?? The late tournament game is always a huge donky fest I don't know how many times I called pot stealers with the better hand and lost.. Maybe I change my mind now.. I change my answer to I enjoy the tourture lol

I play poker when I'm bored for amusement. Most of the time I'm watching a show/movie on top of it.

It's kind of nice to watch youtube videos on poker as well... I've invested an absurd amount of time in my own research.
