I play poker cause I love the game, never can get enough. Poker has help me in life to have patience. It is nice to win money like a second job. But it is in your comfort of your own home. Making money at home as well as at work, it is nice

My grandmother taught me how to play cards when I was 5 years old,and since then I fell in love with the game. I learned many different games, but when I learned about poker 3 years ago, I realized that this is the best game of all card games.

I've been playing for some time, now. Originally, it was to try and make a living, (while I was working.)

Now, I'm an old retired guy, and have a lot more time on my hands to play.

Mainly, now that I'm on a fixed income, I usually limit most of my play to freerolls, and lower buy-in amount tournaments.

It's something I find really enjoyable, and pretty good at. Great way to spend a retirement, especially if you're on your own.

For a long time, I thought chess was the best game ever, but when I started to play poker regularly, I realized that it's the best game there is. it's just so awesome to compete mentally on incomplete information....

Lots of reasons really.
Its a relaxing enjoyable hobby that I can even make some money playing.
Great social game for live and online poker whether with my wife, family, friends, regulars at the casino or all the new players that come to play.
Mentally challenging strategic game where you are pitted battling with your wits against your opponents....love this part!
So many different varieties and games of poker means there is always something new to learn.
The luck factor means that anyone can win a poker tournament even when playing against professionals on any given day...no other sport or game really offers that possibility.
The WSOP - would be a great thrill so some day bink a WSOP event.

That's about the gist of it, probably a few more reasons but these are the biggest ones.

The game draws me in, even when I dont want it too. Even when Im watching 13 year old WPT episodes. Im like I want to play.

Also as I get older, video games require too much fast hand action and button coordination, Poker is just point and click LOL. Ill take some shots at people from the button

My pops loved it! I remember being young we use to get in on those free rolls on full tilt some of our best bonding moments. The game is just fun and nostalgic for me at this point

I used to play poker because I liked it very much , and every time i won something ( 1$ or more ) I was so happy . After that I played poker for $ , and all that I was thinking was money .
Now a days I'm playing poker as a hobby , drinking a few beers playing 2-3 tournaments and enjoying my life ...

Because it can make more money than going to college getting one of those jobs and going through all that stress to make a portion of what poker can give you. Why take 1 dollar when you can take 100$$$?
