Why Do You Play Poker?

Quite simply, I enjoy it. I love a good game. I love the challenge of trying to out think and out play other players. The money is just how we keep score. But who among us doesn't have dreams of winning big money. Generally, the higher the stakes, the more skilled you can expect your opponents to be. We all want to run up a high score, say we play big games for big money, against the best players and win. But I would be more than happy to get lucky and donk my way through the wsop all the way to the final table.

One of my favorite experiences with poker is playing in a cash game at a Casino for 5-8 hours and the time just flies by.(I guess it's for the escape at times)
I also miss playing in live games and tournaments in general...I enjoy online less when compared to a Casino or a home game. I feel this way because in-person is way more fun.

Like most others it's a combination. I feel kind of like a detective trying to figure out if I'm being bluffed or if you are on a hot streak.

I work as a nurse so for me it's chill time, time to relax at night when the kids are a sleep my hubby got me into the game when he took me to the local league he played at and I made my first final table (Being a mental health nurse had nothing to do with it

)

I am passionate about the game itself, I think that it constantly tests you to improve, learn more, try to be better than your rivals at the tables. There is no game like this, you never stop learning and even so you have to fight every day against variance, against the mentality when things do not go as expected, but there is nothing more satisfying than winning a tournament, for example, looking for that feeling whenever possible is very good.

I started playing to have something to focus on during the pandemic so I don't go crazy from boredom or loneliness. Of course I would like to make some money ideally but at this point learning the game to where I start winning more than loosing against good players is my main motivation. I enjoy the process of learning something new and at this point in my life poker seems like the perfect choice.

At one time in my life I was an athlete with hopes and dreams and was a very competitive person. Once I got hurt I had no place to get out and use my competitive skills. Poker for me is the release I needed. I play for the thrill of victory and hats why I play poker. The extra money is nice too.

I started playing tournaments more than two years ago now and my reason is that I enjoy competing and thought that poker tournaments would be as much fun as competitive shooting was...and I was right! I do miss live games because getting to know the "regulars" really adds to my enjoyment. I have however made a few friends playing online, especially in the CardsChat leagues.

I play mostly because I find it fun and enjoy the game, with the money being a nice bonus. Playing mind games with the other players on the table is always satisfying for me.

It means all three things to me, too. I enjoy the game and if I can even make money with it in the meantime it is a special pleasure. A wonderful game of chess is poker with the difference from chess that here a beginner can beat the master (in chess, however, this is unthinkable). Excitement, fun and a little brain gymnastics for me is poker.
