Why did you choose poker?

me positive energy, and it's interesting to see if my game strategy is the right one.

My biggest passion before poker was movies, and while I’m still passionate about them, some of my personal beliefs make it hard to align with a lot of art sometimes. I grapple a lot with impermanence, and art just draws attention to the everlasting or lack thereof. Poker on the other hand is absolutely a pleasure of the present. It doesn’t matter what happens tomorrow, next year, or in a thousand years. When I’m in a poker hand, it feels important to me.

I just love to play and the fact of how amazing it is to see what the cards do and the different situations it puts me and other players in. No 2 hands are the same. Just because something worked one time it might not work again and vice versa. I say greatest past time ever.

why did I choose poker?

I am retired. I had a challenging career in management. I chose poker because I enjoy the challenges. The game helps keep my mind active and also keeps me from getting bored. I play freerolls and if I win anything, I feel accomplished. My major goal each time is to finish in the top quarter and is not the money. I have read too many stories of how guys don't make a lot on the tour once expenses are deducted. Not to say that is right, but it seems different folks are now finishing in the top of wsop. If anything, my biggest dream would be to win a trip and ticket to the WSOP. Thank you for asking and good luck with your poker career!

I am competitive, so poker instigates me to try to evolve and whenever I reach one goal I go after another. poker opens up many possibilities of knowledge as long as you strive and study.

I choose poker because it isn't team play. All my moves and bluffs are only mine. I know if I lose tournament or some money in cash game the only me is chief culprit.

I chose poker just for the strategy of the game -- not for a money-making opportunity. I love card games and my previous favorites were Spades and Hearts. Then I discovered the array of poker styles (Texas Holdem, Razz, Stud, etc.) and fell in love!

I chose poker because I love the competitive nature of the game. It is so complicated and the amount of math and endless types of situations that occur draws me easily into the game.

Simply put; it's challenging and fun. Not only is it exciting to feel the adrenaline pumping and to win a tournament after some bad beats, but you can actually gain money. It's not gambling if you play with the right bankroll, study and play correctly over a large enough sample.

Progress is also easy to follow, and when you see that all your studying and practicing has paid off, there aren't many other things that can exceed the level of satisfaction you're experiencing.
