My boyfriend taught me how to play and from that day we share this passion and play at the same time or coordinate our play with the disponibility of the other.

HI. JUST TO CONSTAR I WOULD NOT LEAVE MY WIFE FOR POKER. I THINK EVERYONE IN A RELATIONSHIP SHOULD MAKE SACRIFICES. BUT, A GOOD TALKING HELP ENOUGH. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR WIFE.

Hello all, I'm coming to get advice or maybe to everyone to tell me what I already know hahaha, Im a succesful and winning poker player, Im a programmer to so in the morning I work in my software job and in the night I go to the casino and play 6pm-11pm but my wife hates it to the point she wants to divorce, the thing is, I only play Poker 4 days per week, the remaining 3 days I take her out for dinner or to travel somewhere, also one day I work from home so its 4 days in total we get to spend time together and do things. also when I get back from playing we watch movies with some chips and beers, so I do actually spend time with her, poker is my passion and im good at it, I could live from poker if I would want too, I have winnings that gives me a king life in Mexico, but she doesn't understand that, its time to breakup maybe?
Is this real?
Would 3 nights make her happy?
Would her coming to see what all the fuss is about help any?
Does she work because if she doesn’t tell her to get a job and you can quit part time job 😂
You sound very reasonable as it is. So don’t give much more.
And the question at the end I think says a lot. Maybe I’m wrong but are you into her anymore anyway?

Well, stop playing Poker and receive extra money with it; You no longer invite her to walk or go out because the money from just your work does not make you pay for those expenses with her, since you have left Poker, that she knows. You explain to her that with your work you do not receive enough money to please her: that way you don't have to think of anything in between: you get divorced or she lets you play poker to give her likes, also if you get divorced you will have more freedom to play Poker and with more money earned , you choose the woman you want.

The best thing you can do is balance your two loves, which is poker and your wife, to find the perfect balance point and thus avoid the inconvenience of your wife.

They are mostly alike. If it wasnt poker, it would be that she doesnt want you drinking, or she doesnt like your friends, or your job is not intereesting enough or you dont help around the house. Thats a wifes job. Divorce is probably not worth it. In my experience, the next one is worse.

Everything in the long run tires, but they say that custom is stronger than love, it is difficult to maintain a relationship if your partner does not like you to have that lifestyle, in my case it is better to say goodbye than to have to live Obligation to support someone who does not give you their space, that's what I did and now I live better, I have no one to bark at me :D:D

Of course it’s going to be difficult playing poker and keeping your wife happy by giving her quality time.
There has to be a balance.
My wife lets me play with restrictions.
And I think it’s only fair to spend quality time with your family and spend some time following your passion for poker.
Both can Co-Exist.

I am not sure what to do about her, but if the divorce happens, my sister is single, perhaps we can arrange something.

This is one of my favorite threads. I think its time we resurrect it and get the relationship insights of our Cards Chat members who have more game than the top dating coaches. I hope dude and his wife are doing well and one day update us.

A similar situation throughout my life. When I was younger, my parents (Soviet upbringing) discouraged my gambling hobbies. I thought how to explain to them? Now that I have a child myself, I continue my passion for poker and sometimes have to make excuses and explain to some other relatives that poker is not a casino. Last year I made a presentation of a new "Poker Business Project" for my family (we already have several other small family businesses, non-poker related). The Presentation included : real Business plan, timing, goals, KPIs, budget, etc. As a result, today this hobby has every chance to become a pleasant part-time job (the document is signed by family members in advance, just in case of any family member displeasure :deal:).

May be a suchlike approach will help some good person.

P. S. Try to TEACH Poker your displeasured relatives to spend time together in game.
