I think the level of the game depends on the level of thinking, not gender. :)

the men

even though women are more intuitive in many cases they are less risky that does not mean they are fewer winners but in most times you see mixed sports finals the largest number of participants are men :D

Men dominate the game period. That is not to say men are better, the odds are in their favor just because of shear numbers. If the numbers evened out, you might see the number of female winners match male winners.
Just kidding Men rule Poker, hahahahahahahaha

Do you think gender affects the quality of poker playing?
Do men play better or do women play better?
What reasons do you have to think so?
:questionm:questionm:questionm:questionm:questionm
Let's discuss it!:top:

"Many people play poker, both men and women."
I play most often with men at cardrooms (Online and Real), at casinos the numbers of women playing is slightely bigger.

But who is better?
I coud not tell you with precision, however every time I played with women I won, however I play Poker for more than 15 years and it counts.

Do you think gender affects the quality of poker playing?

Honestly, I perceived experience and variance does it at most often.

Do men play better or do women play better?
I coud not tell you with precision.

What reasons do you have to think so?
Experience and variance changes the spots.

Hi Friend.

I have seen more men than women in this game, so my answer would not make much sense, since I have not seen many women playing to compare and know who plays better, I think that gender does not influence this game, by the way, I like it the way Dayane Kotoviezy plays.

It really doesn't matter what gender a player is, I have come up against some really talented Female players who have beaten numerous Male players to make the Final Table and sometimes winning a Tournament.
Percentage wise, there are more Male players in general, and inevitably most winning players are Men simply because they outnumber the Women, but it does not mean that Men are better players.
You only have to "Google" Women Poker players and you will find lots of great players, I always respect my opposition no matter, whether they are Male or Female, they can be formidable players whatever gender they are.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

Yes, I agree with you. It does not matter what gender a person is, the main thing is the ability to analyze his game and improve it:angel:

I do play poker considering I am a woman. It is good to play and whether I win or lose it doesn't matter to me.

For poker, gender is not important, the one who thinks better and makes smarter decisions is better player. A serious poker player should not attach importance to whether there is a man or a woman on the other side of the table.

There is no way you can say anyone is better than someone else, just because of Gender differences, Men and Women are both equally good when it comes to playing Poker, The only difference is that there are far more Men playing Poker than Women, there are a lot more Male names on the World Poker Series Trophy than Female names, but that does not prove that Men are better, only that more Men play the game.
It is the same with driving, In the U.K. statistics are used to prove Women are better drivers than Men and get cheaper car insurance, but in reality there are far more Men driving on the roads than Women, so it is only reasonable to assume Men have more accidents.
Statistics and Percentages mean nothing, but everyone assumes that because of the Mathematics used, they must be right, I always think of the age old question "How long is a piece of string?" when that question is answered maybe we can start to rely on Statistics.

Thank you for your answers in my topic. It is always a pleasure for me to read your arguments. You usually don't talk superficially, but look into the very essence, commenting on posts.

I wonder why there are fewer women in poker than men? I think men play computer games more than women. Maybe women are less interested in it? :icon_scra

Well I think men's have an advantage due the fact woman didn't seriously played poker longer than 20 years or so but yea both genders can manage a final wsop table I guess
I think the fact is that women have much more basic tasks than men. Therefore, most often they are not up to poker. In addition, poker is always associated with financial risk and women, as keepers of the hearth and budget, are more careful here. Although I am glad that there are more and more of us and that so many programs are aimed at attracting women to poker.:)

Thank you for your answers. I agree with you. It is impossible to draw an objective line on this issue, because there are more men in poker.

Yes, I agree with the author of many posts, there is no difference, there are only opponents. But in live poker, if there is a nice and beautiful girl, then she can be beautiful, like a trump card, and it is doubly nice if this trump card turns against herself, so it's cool to play poker. You girls are all beautiful, there are no ugly girls.

Simply put, gender doesn't matter but women are so few in poker they are not visible.

Thank you for your answer, but I don't agree with you here. Indeed, many women have achieved success. They are given special attention: these are women's tournaments, programs to attract women to poker, and the women's Hall of Fame. So, despite the fact that there are significantly fewer of us, we still shine brightly.

I always find the comments of this interesting. I dont honestly think there is anything better or worse in the differences of male to female poker player. If anything I think live that the women are nicer and more willing to be friendly but that's it. In the group i used to play with I did find one thing interesting tho. The best 2 players I played against were women. You should never under estimate the other players not matter what.

Personally I doubt there is any difference in potential skill regardless if your male or female. I actually think our differences in gender make it more difficult for the other sex as its perceived as another variable to consider when making decisions in poker.

Wow! This is an interesting point of view. I never thought about it and never took gender into account when making a decision during the game. I was very surprised by your answer.

Online tournaments for women are a good way to attract women to poker and a good start for novice poker players. It is easier for them to plunge into the big world of poker, playing in a tournament where there are not so many rivals and there is no sense of fear. Profit is everywhere. In some competitions, which are held only for women, there are amazing prizes. That's why some dishonest people are so eager to find legal loopholes to play there as well.:deal:

I don't think there is any difference in poker between women and men.
It is more likely that they have some advantage in the fact that many men underestimate them (very wrong situation) and she takes advantage of those alpha males

There is certainly no inclination to be better or worse because of sex. The thing is, poker is immensely inhabited by men. It is a sport that arouses much more interest in practicing it among males. This is the only reason why there are so few women winning major tournaments online or offline.

Women have more patience. Women Are Just Better: Better at poker, better in business,
better at life. There’s really no need to put a finger on it, we’re just better.
It’s testosterone versus estrogen. It’s Adam vs Eve. lol

Oh, thanks for the answer! Although I think that in online poker and live there is no difference whether you are a man or a woman.:)
Although just the other day, a story happened to me: one of the players started specifically responding to my raises and wrote at the same time that he knew that his combination was weaker than mine, but he would still respond to my bets. It was very nice.
The funny thing is that I don't have a translator on my computer, and I didn't know he wrote it. :(
This happens too. This man just wanted to give me his chips.
Unfortunately, I have not met such gentlemen at the microlimits. Mostly there are narcissistic fools, who try to prove to a woman, that she does not know how to play, and they are the best players in the world.:p

I don't get worried much less paying attention if it's a man or a woman, I only see opponents, I believe I've already lost to female opponents, I confess that I'm focused on the plays and mistakes I make

the century old men and women where ment to be together in holy matramony mix that up at the poker table, might prove to be very distracting for both opposite's to focus on what there doing on the felt. That being said, live's should be created in large numbers for greater prosperity and more poker players on cards chat hahahah!!!!
