Women and Men in poker

Maybe we should be talking about more than two genders?
In my opinion, it doesn't matter because I play in so many different environments and against different and new opponents. Regardless of their gender, male/female/trans and whatever else there might be, it is my money against theirs. I treat everyone the same, until I figure them out (if possible). Then I play them as rocks, calling stations, fish, sharks, etc.

I think it's cool, because women fight for the same rights as men, it's more than fair.

There is no difference, we play the same as men for the same goal: ``Winning''. They, for the most part, have always had the belief that they intimidate us or that we have nothing in the brain, but we have the cards in hand hehehehe

Hmmmmmm..... I would say women are just a little bit tighter of players than men are and maybe don't bluff quite as much as men might (men have that "must win" ego). But there are a few women that show up on my table that make me wish I was at another table...... GREAT players. Now the other thing I wonder is what is the percentage of men/women at any given poker table at any given time? 6:1??? 8:1???? I am not sure but I would guess it's in that range. Hard to tell because you van't tell if you are playing against a woman or a man most of the time. But yes..... great topic!!

I don't think gender, race, religion, nationality or any particular genetical difference could influence in any way the mental capacity of a human who performs in poker or any other mental game. I'm only guessing that the question is about humans who dedicate their life to this profession and not taking gamblers into account (as it would be a gamble to go either way).

I know there are some people going into multiple choice of genders, LGBTQ+ + the rest of the alphabet that will be added gradually I imagine. I respect and totally appreciate everyone's sexual orientation and choice of appearance. However, genetically, whether you like it or not or choose to adjust it or make it look something else, there are still two genders and some hermaphrodite mutations. It's a lovely movement and I truly enjoy the complexity and extent of it, but unless CRISPR or other technology modifies the DNA to create new genders, we're all stuck to how the human species evolved.

I'm in the Q category as I am so confused about how the world works that I no longer have any clue what I am and what my purpose is.

So, men, women, dogs, monkeys, aliens or whatever species have the same odds, the only difference is made by everyone's resilience and motivation to beat the odds and gain an edge.

I put my money on Tardigrades (water bears). Tiny, yes, but they seem to have an edge over everyone else, even off our planet and they might become the experts in poker in the next few hundred million years.

In my opinion gender does not affect quality of play. I feel if you are invested in poker for the long haul you will adapt your gameplay to sustain winning for as long as possible.

If you are playing Hold'em and those two cards are laying face down on the table in front of you they don't care if you are a boy or girl, black or white, Russian or American. What you do with those cards makes you who you are and what you do. I take notes on my competitors on how they play, what they do with those two cards.

Hello! In my opinion, I don't think gender is an advantage or disadvantage when it comes to playing. There aren't that many women playing but the ones that are are at a good level. poker is about thinking, regardless of gender. Cheers!!!

No need to discuss .men and women are the same .many women's are better in life work positions ,why not in poker

women are very good at playing poker, when we men have a bad bet, and we get out of control.

I noticed when playing women-only tournaments that the game goes completely differently from regular games with all genders. The game goes much slower, women tend to be more conservative with their bet and raise amounts. All-ins are rare, while small bets to see the cards are preferred to folding. As a woman myself, these games for me are more relatable and less stressful. Men tend to crave taking more risk, making large bets and going all-in at the start which in many cases pays off if luck is on their side. I don't know which of these strategies are better or worse. Women's strategy is more logical and by-the-book. But when playing against men, we have to play like men too. Otherwise we just end-up bleeding chips while waiting for better cards while they just take risks and win with worse hands.

As it is a game, where we use our mind to make the best moves, both men and women are perfectly capable of being victorious. Women have a great advantage, especially in live, because with their beauty and delicacy they can overshadow their plays, leaving men at a disadvantage.

Women have a big advantage because they are more patient than men outside that when the woman throws that charm it's gone.

Women actually play better than men cos they can control the emotions while we just lose it

Only stupid men can think like that. Women are much more cold-blooded, more insidious and never fully trust anyone. And the dominance of men in poker is only due to the fact that there are much more of them in percentage terms.

In live poker it does matter, but in online poker, what's the difference?
The matter on live poker isn't about better or worse, the reads gonna be different, it has also to do with statistics, as there are more men poker players, it doesn't mean that women are not playing as good as men, but statistically.

Sexes

Women tend to do well on party poker real name games, I often see at least 2 women at the final table.
Other Apps you just don't know who you are playing as no real names or pics.
Us men often tilt after a lost hand or 2 while women don't so much, more patience I guess and I think secretly alot of them just want to beat the men anyway and they don't often go head to head with each other.

But the reality is: Women are simply not interested in poker (and similiar activities)

It will always be a mens game (for instance because of: ultra high competition, clever mathematics and all the other "nerd" stuff)
