How do you manage time when you have a 10- or 12-hour job and your passion is poker?
At the moment, poker is my day job. Unfortunately. The war in Ukraine destroyed my sphere of activity in which I was working. So I have no other choice but to try to win big money in poker. But before, when I was working all the time, I mostly played poker on weekends.

I would play poker outside my work schedule if I was in this situation.

It's hard to play poker when working a lot of over time. When this happens to me poker become secondary and may not even be played during these times for me. In the last year + for me time has been a massive issue. I have also hardly played poker during this time as well. I do try to sneak in a game when i can but it's not easy.

I think that for everything there is a time, the good thing about online poker is that you can play at any time of the day, many people like to play at night and even in the early morning.

I work 4 days a week. Unfortunately, there is no time left for poker on the days when I work. That's why I just play on those days when I'm off. I usually play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I am lucky. I am retired, so I can play when I want. But the CC freerolls take place in the evening :ROFLMAO:.

Each situation is individual, the level of responsibility to others is only for yourself or there is a family that you provide and different levels of wages at work, prospects and opportunities for growth.

As much as I enjoy my job and like my friends at work I really miss when all I did was play poker all day long. Now I am way too tired when I get home to even consider a serious game as it would take too much time. Even in freerolls I used to take them very seriously but now if I'm honest I find it hard to do that like I used to be able to do.

It's hard to play poker when you're working 10 or 12 hours a day. I work much less, but still I can't always find time to play. I think if I worked 10 hours a day I would just forget about poker. If you work so much, then probably the only option for you is to play on weekends.

It's easier for me, I work at home. But I also have household chores, so there is very little time left for poker.

Balancing work and poker requires effective time management. Set clear boundaries, allocate dedicated time for each, and avoid letting one interfere with the other. Stay disciplined to ensure productivity at work and enjoyment in poker without compromising either.Balancing work and poker requires effective time management. Many years ago, when I worked in sales, I went to a poker club on the weekends. After work, I was always tired and my head was filled with thoughts about the next working day. I could only really relax and enjoy the game on the weekends. I once read advice a long time ago that you should play poker when there are no extraneous thoughts in your head, when you feel good and nothing bothers you in life. I completely agree with this advice, only in this case you can fully enjoy poker and get a good result from the game.

I find it difficult to work 12 hours and play poker.
Poker requires a lot of mental energy. I don't believe that anyone who works 12 hours a day are able to concentrate playing poker afterwards.
In general, I think its a bad idea to play any kind of poker after working a 12 hours shift.

With such a long working hours it's hard to play professionally poker. I would suggest to play only on day-offs or play some quick games like spin&go or single table tournaments or cash games
