If poker were just an online game, the essence of which would be entertainment and there would be no prize pools.
Would you play poker, or would you never come to this card game?

Although I thoroughly enjoy playing poker I wouldn't play if there was no money in it.

I certainly wouldn't play, I fell in love with poker playing live.

I started playing poker long before I knew it was possible to play for real money. And if it's impossible to win real money in the game, I'll still play with play money, if only to have fun.

I certainly would, even if not everybody would play seriously. This game is so much fun, even without money being involved. I have played many times just for fun and I have enjoyed it every time.

Yes, I would play but I wouldn't have much motivation, money is what gives you adrenaline.

Great question - I would definitely still play, but I probably wouldn't study it so much and be so serious about things and just have more fun with it.

Hmmm....not that it all isn't fun to me. It's just time consuming and takes some efforts and since I'm not wealthy, that time and effort would be better spent elsewhere.

Usually I play with the hope that I can win, but there is simply no such interest)

It's a good question, I'd play only with friends, as I did back in university.

When I started to play many years ago I started with this type of game. It wasn't even a poker room, it was a site that offers free games, like poker and other card games. So, I think I would still play, but definitely I wouldn't play almost everyday and for so many hours like I do now.

It wouldn't be the same game if it wasn't played for money. The money is what forces people to continually get better at the game which is the aspect I love about it. It's arguably one of the competitive mind games out there, perhaps only second to chess... Which I have no idea how to play. But if it wasn't for the competitive nature that comes with playing for money I wouldn't bother

No, I would not, the reason has to do with the fact that when you take out the money aspect players just feel free to go all in with any two cards. When there is money involved players tend to play knowing they have something to lose.

I would play it, the problem would be about other players who would just not be serious about it, playing all sorts of hands, and calling with any hand to the river, only to see what you have got, and that wont be fun, because you would rarely bluff

I would not. I think i would lose interest in one hour. And i think that 95% of players are like that. I play frendly games with small buy in and it is important that there is money. Even if it is 5 euros on the table

I don't play for the prize, not just for the prize. I enjoy every moment of it.

I think that if poker wouldn't be for money IT would be a different kind of game that It is . You wont win tournament only playing with cards , most of hands is putting pressure on the oponent , there would be no pressure if you Play for nothing and cant lose anything. Its like playing for virtual money ,no poker just gambling and checking all hands just because you arę curious.
SO...NO MONEY NO POKER :D

The decision to play online poker without prize pools ultimately depends on individual motivations. While winning money is a significant motivator for some, others may be satisfied with the entertainment value and strategic challenge of the game itself. The absence of prize pools may discourage some players, but the social aspect and intellectual stimulation of poker are enduring factors that keep people interested
