i totally agree. before i would push all in preflop on AA or KK. now i would raise preflop or reraise preflop and then decide an allin depending on what the flop is. Although most times ure AA/KK will hold, they are still just a high pair and anything above a pair can destroy it. so no point in overvaluing it so much tht u call all ib preflop

by applying 3× blinds or 3bet it will tell most players u have a good pocket pair. so to switch it up would leave ppl guessing

well everyone hates bad beats but if you agree tht it is part of the game and expect it to happen then it is better then being afraid of it. i always try to close down a pot in semi fear of badbeats...but then i dont maximize my pot.

A Bad Beat is a part of poker. It sure sucks when ya lose with AA.
But, its really good to beat AA with a favorable flop.

in poker very often a pair loses to connectors, with a strong pair of AA should not be afraid to go all in, but play it when the bank included 4-5 people is better not worth it.

When there are 4-5 people I agree with you that the odds of winning with AA will decrease. But of any form you will be ahead.
Simulate a situation like this that will see the numbers.

For some reason I can get knocked out of a tournament with a bad beat and shrug it off but in cash games they still sting.

I am not afraid of bad beats or hero calls that pay off to the opponent. But it does get old when it is a regular basis tournament after tournament for a long stretch of time. Or even throughout one tournament. Have had a couple tournament that I got into and could have literally sat out and not played a hand for a deeper run, watching each good hand or dominate hand be trashed by a turn or river and knowing if I was playing the hand, no matter what I did on any street the opponent was calling. Yes poker is a very tough and strategic game. But when you notice that it isn't by chance that they caught there card you begin to wonder.

My point of view is: depending on what kind of tournament I play. If’s a freeroll all in preflop without thinking with premium hands. If’s a bubble I need to see the flop. I’m too many times badbeated that I really don’t care anymore, but it’s a part of the game and I’m not afraid to play poker

I am kind of affraid only in the late stages of a mtt since i feel like i put alot of effort by that point. But in cash games is just one simple hands of thousands so not so much fear.

Bad beats hurt but what really destroys people is long term down swings. Poker is as much about attitude and patience as it is about skill. Always feel better being knocked out of a tourney knowing that there was nothing better i could have done. knowing that i played my best.

Bad Beats are a part of the game, so are suck outs. I bet you have had both but only remember the bad beat.

As to folding AA / KK preflop..never unless it risks my tournament life and even then probably not. Post flop is an entirely different monster. see my sig

I find that AK is usually a tricky hand to play if there are a few all inners pre-flop. Usually someone has a pair and you are already behind, simply hoping to flip top pair top kicker. Still, your odds are close to 50% with overcards, so it can still be worth it depending on your chip stack.

like having beat the bat beat no .. but in truth there are times that you play well and try to do the right things or in the best way possible and there is everyone who pays you with junk cards and win and you do not know who to throw the blame .. those things sometimes affect me in the animistic

Needless to state, bad beats are part of any game, be it poker or any other game that was conceived to have a portion of it relying on random or other forms of luck.

The greater the percentage of the luck factor in a given game, will produce the greater frequency of the so labeled “Bad Beats”

Ask yourself this question, if you love swimming in the ocean would you ever quite it, because there is a possibility that you could be eaten by a shark.

If your answer is don’t be silly, Well then, you have your answer about the fear of Bad beats.
